There were a few rumours about him, one was the player partner one, the other was a bad habit he brought over from his days with Bomber Thompson, but I've always said the simpler explanation was Roo wasn't a fan of his and wanted Walsh in the big chair. Roo was backed up by Noble, so when the two biggest voices of your footy department are making a recommendation, a recommendation which is then backed up by player reviews I think the board would be crazy not to act, no matter how much it'd hit your wallet.
Care to elaborate on the habit bit?
PM me if needed

What happened with Sando, I heard a rumour about a players' partner. Care to fill me in?

Noble had concerns about Sando's coaching since the loss of Bailey and they wanted to replace Bailey but Sando was umming and ahhing about that. Combined with what he had been observing within the footy department, he went in to the box to observe and assist. We also got an outsider in efficiency to observe as well. From that there were deficiencies identified and changes recommended. Sando refused to implement any of them after saying that he would. Then there was the fracturing towards the end of the season with him hanging out the younger players to dry and berrating them in front of others. He only liked to talk to certain players on the list. Apparently he blamed young Thompson in an after match debrief and Scott Thompson spoke up and told him off about it at the time. Roo was brought in part the way through that year onto the Board and was instilled with Noble as doing an investigation into the footy department. Chapman was also integral to this. So while we from the outside look and think it was all Roo, it was Chapman who engineered him coming on board and Noble already had concerns. The upshot was it was the combination of Chapman, Roo and Noble that has led us to this promising future we now have.

There were rumours once the news broke about him being sacked. There possibly is quite a kernal of truth to some of them, but his sacking was mostly that he wouldn't change and couldn't see that he was wrong and there were huge issues of the disconnect with the playing group.

Well that was enjoyable. Been driving out to Strath and back all morning listening to Port melts on 5aa. Rooch doesn't understand that his line of thinking is part of the problem. The 3 k's can do no wrong and Port Adelaide's history forever means that they can never be scrutinized.

For once Kornes made a good point. Koch tweeted that questions will be asked. What questions? That tweet was just gutless and embarrassing and now their best player has given up on the club.

And lol at them trying their hardest to get Crows fans to ring in. They've backed the wrong horse at 5aa. Why a Crows fan would ring to speak to Rooch and Kane Cornes, 2 Power sycophants is beyond me. If 5aa want to engage the supporters of the biggest club in the State, start by getting some expert analysis and presenters with no bias (Crows or Power) who are prepared to engage with our supporters

Someone rings up and says, bite the bullet, Hinkley is done, move him on.

Rooch: "Alistair Clarkson didn't start that well either".

Haha.

This is so much like our Sando era.
More like our Neil Craig Era with Neil having a bit more success. No one really expected Sando to go. If you suggested it you were fairly left field.
If they sacked Hinkley out of the blue after the season was over it would have been like Sando.

A mate at work knows Capel and he advised the Kane is continually being chased for media work. He is in high demand well respected within the industry!

Just shows how far our media standards have dropped over the years. Our political journalists have no idea and now neither do our sports.

His worth ethic definitely isn't in high demand at the MFS. Other than maybe for occasional photo and media ops

Thanks Nikki

And 5AA wonder why their ratings are crashing and burning

Was a brilliant interview. Freo have put the cue in the rack. We should win well, and as I posted in the changes thread, use as a chance to rest Jacobs.
Why? He's not hurt I don't think, just not having Danger around his feet to help as much.

I'd consider resting Walker if his foot is still causing issues, but preferably we'd go in full strength and try and put on a massive beating.
