As I said, Lions have been in good form lately

They have been trying very hard. But I think Geelong will start to pull away after halftime.

Melbourne = were simply awful under pressure. 7.16 in front of goal just totally unacceptable.

So the likely outcome is this.

If Geelong wins today, they will beat Melbourne next week.
North now have 8th sealed and I think they will rest some players next week = Giants win.
Adelaide = win is double chance 1st, 2nd or 3rd, loss is probably 5th, maybe 4th depending on the Giants result. But it is likely that Sydney finishes top.
Essendon can avoid the spoon with a win over Carlton next week, assuming Brisbane lose their remaining games.

Geelong seem to have set up their game to suit their home ground which is narrow.
They leave you with less options to move the ball forward because you don't have much width to work with to go around them.
You bomb it and they have numbers back.

Adelaide Oval is similar to Kardinia, being narrow, and that might be why the 2 games this year and results were similar.
I think it's why the Cats have also seemed to struggle a bit at the MCG, huge amount of space and deep wings/flanks.
Much harder to create that 'bomb it to us' option when there is space to go around.

Its amusing how everyone (including us) believed the Crows would need 100+ wins for the last month of H&A to even be a smokey for top 2, yet all the other teams are faltering around us: Hawks lost 2 and drop out, Sydney barely got by against North, Geelong struggling to put away the cellar dwellers, GWS dropped a game to slip out of 4th...

Geelong were always going to win, its all about how much Brisbane can impede them from scoring big and getting a few back of their own. No chance now they can overtake us, and next week against Melbourne will be another challenge.

I said it somewhere on here with 5 rounds to go. There was no way all top 5 teams were going to win all of their remaining games. There was always going to be an upset somewhere along the line, we just had to do our part and make sure it wasn't us. So far, so good.

Not everyone, I was preaching that it's hard enough to tip 9 wins in a weekend, so correctly tipping the favourites to win the 20 games the top 5 had left to play was even less likely. Knew there would be upsets, we just had to make sure it wasn't us.

Yep, it was statistically very unlikely that all the top teams would win five games in a row

I just realised I've been posting in the wrong thread, I was wondering why no one was posting :$

Anyway, fantastic quarter Lions. The Cats would be starting to feel the pressure.

I love the Lions physicality and how they are moving the ball forward with smart passing. They are also making Enright accountable. Their game plan is how we should have played them.
Don't worry, I won't tell anyone about your love for Mitch Robinson

Cant wait until all these gifted father/sons at Geelong retire. They are gonna divebomb quicker than a Japanese WWII pilot.
