One good thing about the close result tonight is that Port are great and they will be top 4 next year. Ryder and other key players back plus their young talent is very special.
Another funny thing as they continue to fall down the ladder I'm fairly sure that second round pick that they have given up was expected to be around 35 now it looks like it may be around 25. Ouch!

Do showdowns ruin Ports mindset and season?
I am of the opinion that it does. Your players and club have trained themselves to treat showdowns like grand finals as a must win game of footy, where as the Crows probably (to their detriment to winning more showdowns then they do) take the approach of treating showdowns more like a normal game of footy. Just don't see this showdown strategy as proving to be a successful one by port as far as their seasons go.

Its almost punishing Cloke by Collingwood selecting the campaigner and he spends the whole game embarrassing himself.
I think all gloves should be banned. I have never ever heard of a good reason for them. It is always been a cheaters was to be a better mark. You can tell because players would remove the glove while having a set shot at goal. If it didn't assist in grip then why remove it. So yes, Tredrea was just as much of a cheat when ever he wore the glove just like Cloke. No question about that.

Yep, hate gloves - ban them is the only smart thing to do.
Talk if we get a home final it might be a thursday night.. because that makes perfect sense.
I ****ing hope its not a thursday night final for the crows. Not living in adelaide pretty much rules out my plan of taking a leave day on the friday and travelling to see the game

Im worried it will happen. I live in northern NSW so have to drive 3 hours to GC catch a 2.5hr flight.
Just saw Brad Ebert's mums Tweet about the Sloane incident on FootSA, was it mentioned somewhere? along the line of "If a Crows player punches a Port player in the head nothing in it, if it happens the other way around the Port player is labelled a thug."
