How would that possibly affect you or the team? If that's their views and they're being sincere, then good on them. They're expressing their views in a way that doesn't harm anyone.
I cringe any time I see the word "International" in the context of coffee....
Like coffee? You’ll love Saturday

MELBOURNE’S worshipping of the daily grind will receive an extra shot of love as the city toasts International Coffee Day on Saturday
Any time a player requests a club he what's to go to in a trade, they always end up there. The threat of PSD is moot now.How do you define "Powerful Players Union" .......what have they actually done, other than huff and puff?

West AdelaideNeed to remove the PSD ....players should not have that option ... Not needed nowadaysAny time a player requests a club he what's to go to in a trade, they always end up there. The threat of PSD is moot now.
I tend to think there is an "invisible hand" with the Union's backing at play there.

The players have all the power when it comes to trading.Need to remove the PSD ....players should not have that option ... Not needed nowadays
West AdelaideDisagree .... It's more the weakness of the clubs .... They buckle too easily & don't call the bluff for fear of supporter backlashThe players have all the power when it comes to trading.
That is the work of their union.

Ever since Nick Stevens I can't recall a player not ending up at a club he nominates.Disagree .... It's more the weakness of the clubs .... They buckle too easily & don't call the bluff for fear of supporter backlash

Think Ryan O'Keefe is the closest in that he wasn't traded at all.Ever since Nick Stevens I can't recall a player not ending up at a club he nominates.
I would bet the AFL and clubs have some sort of gentleman's agreement to ensure that does not happen again. In fear of players striking and/or wanting more money.

West Adelaide1. Want a trade to a club of YOUR choosing and mid contract .......you have a contract, we expect you to honor it .......play in the seconds if your hearts not in it ......should be contract payment components for AFL games v seconds games (like other incentives)Ever since Nick Stevens I can't recall a player not ending up at a club he nominates.

What about players like Huston who were uncontracted and nominate a club after their initial contract ends.1. Want a trade to a club of YOUR choosing and mid contract .......you have a contract, we expect you to honor it .......play in the seconds if your hearts not in it ......should be contract payment components for AFL games v seconds games (like other incentives)
2. Want to break a contract .....you're being wooed by another club to break the contract and come to their club? ......ok the destination club must honor the contract PLUS pay the host club a breach of contract penalty, say 30% of the contract value over the term
West AdelaideIMO you have to remove the threat of entering the PSD ......your contract finishes, you go back into the draft pool, if a suitable trade can't be completed with your desired club. What about players like Huston who were uncontracted and nominate a club after their initial contract ends.
We had to deal with Hawthorn even though other clubs may have wanted him and had more currency for us.
That is where it falls down and is weighted in the player's favour.
The reason all trading is in the player's favour is the strength of their union.
The hold up in the 2017 Salary Cap is them wanting more.
The game has moved too far in their favour.

If anyone feels like having a good laugh, swing on over to the mud buttons board and read the Lobbe signs until 2019 thread. It's only 10 pages long but very, very entertaining.
Lol... Post 64 where it went from back slapping to reality that they had signed a dud for 4 yearsView attachment 294686

West AdelaideI'm happy for them to act as they think they should.
I agree.
Mundine's statement seemed headline grabbing. But if he feels the need to boycott, that's up to him but to jump on the bandwagon of the #blacklivesmatter campaign against police shootings in the US seems to be insensitive and bandwagon-ish.
