Pick 74 Harry Morrison notched up 100 games on the weekend.

Still maintain this was the greatest final 3 players ever taken in a national draft.
Morrison, Larkey and Lewis.

And following on my post from the '17 thread, the depth in this draft is also remarkable.

B: Tom Stewart (Pick 40), Brennan Cox (Pick 41), Luke Ryan (Pick 66)
HB: Oliver Florent (Pick 11), Jordan Ridley (Pick 22), Andrew McGrath (Pick 1)
C: Harry Perryman (Pick 14), Tim Taranto (Pick 2), Josh Daicos (Pick 57)
HF: Sam Powell-Pepper (Pick 18), Mitch Lewis (Pick 76), Shai Bolton (Pick 29)
F: Cameron Zurhaar (RD Pick 11), Nick Larkey (Pick 73), Tyson Stengle (RD Pick 6)
R: Tim English (Pick 19), Jy Simpkin (Pick 12), Hugh McClugagge (Pick 3)
I: Sean Darcy (Pick 38), Rowan Marshall (RD Pick 10), Jack Henry (RD Pick 16), Will Hayward (Pick 21)

Team 2:
B: Zach Guthrie (RD Pick 33), Esava Ratugolea (Pick 43), Josh Battle (Pick 39)
HB: Jack Scrimshaw (Pick 7), Griffin Logue (Pick 8), Isaac Cumming (Pick 20)
C: Jack Bowes (Pick 10), Brandan Parfitt (Pick 26), Jack Graham (Pick 53)
HF: Ben Ainsworth (Pick 4), Todd Marshall (Pick 16), Patrick Lipinski (Pick 28)
F: Jake Waterman (Pick 77), Darcy Cameron (Pick 48), Willie Rioli (Pick 52)
R: Oscar McInerney (RD Pick 37), Willem Drew (Pick 33), Jarrod Berry (Pick 17)
I: Robbie Fox (RD Pick 34), Zac Fisher (Pick 27), Sam Draper (RD Pick 1), Mitchell Hinge (RD Pick 20)

One of the great ruck drafts. English with an AA, followed by Darcy, Marshall, McInerney, Cameron and Draper all established first choice rucks.

Zach Guthrie lining up for game 100 this week.

Who do you move from team 2 to be team 1's sub and who do you add after?

Berry gone pass a few in team 1 after this year. Florent, perrymen, Powell pepper as a start
Opportunity obviously the issue but Perryman the most underrated in this draft, deserves a crack somewhere else this trade period.

1. Tom Stewart
2. Luke Ryan
3. Tim Taranto
4. Andrew Mcgrath
5. Hugh McCluggage
6. Tim English
7. Shai Bolton
8. Nick Larkey
9. Josh Daicos
10. Ollie Florent / Will Hayward

HM. Jordan Ridley, Jy Simpkin, Sam Powell Pepper, Sean Darcy
It’s time to concede. The McGrath rating is clearly wrong. Daicos has gone back this year and is the opposite of McGrath - hits targets, doesn’t panic and is all class.

McCluggage is 2nd in the coaches votes and Larkey in a terrible team is 2nd in the Coleman.

Generous to add McGrath to the HM.

Was about to say it's unfair to pick out posts from 5 years ago but then checked the date 😲

We all over rate our own but this is way over the top. McGrath is solid but he isn’t above All Australians - something he will never be.

Strange to pick on McGrath today given I reckon he won his matchup.

Josh is the better player of the two and by some margin IMO but to compare their roles is laughable.
You can compare - 1 team want the ball in the hands of their defender - the other want him no where near it.

If you picked McGrath with a late 3rd rounder or a rookie pick you'd be pretty stoked.

If you picked him with anything above a pick in the 20s he'd be a whipping boy.

Zach Guthrie at Rookie Pick 33 and Josh Daicos at Pick 57, both in AA contention to start the season. Andrew McGrath at Pick 1, never in AA contention, and certainly not now.

Incredible.

One is a defender and the other very clearly isn’t.

They don’t play the same role and suggesting they do just because they’re both back of centre is a very lazy argument.
Diacos could play both roles. That’s the difference - but because he is so good at offence they use him in that role. Do you have McGrath in this drafts top 10?

ZG is one of the biggest surprises in my time watching footy. I thought early he was terrible and on a list due to his brother. He is quality.

We ALL feel this way, haha. No-one hated him more than our own supporter base - especially after that infamous matchup against Roughead in the dying stages of a clutch Geelong/Hawthorn game, as a skinny twig at all of 70 kilos. Thought Chris Scott was nuts, but now he's the replacement Tom Stewart, a Premiership player, runner up B+F and just so goddamn reliable each and every week.

I think all collective Geelong supporters have been happy to have eggs on their faces for this one :tearsofjoy:

Lol you might want to check my posting history. With ess being so irrelevant there is no need for me to post.
nuh, your just the nuffy version of Nostradamus

the fact you want some sort of validation from a post almost 12 months ago is kinda sad.

FWIW, the Andy McGrath you want to pick on kept 2023 Norm Smith Medalist starless in the first half today :thumbsu:

A small defender might be good for a team full of midfielders
