One thing he can do is nail his shots on goal if he continues to play the majority of his time on the wing, restricting his ability to collect 30+ possessions a game. If he does that he becomes a 1.5 goal a game player, without spending any time 'resting' forward. Quite a unique player in that regard when combined with his ability to deliver the ball into the forward line as well.

Going from 15.22 last season and 8.21 in 2020, he needs to turn that accuracy around. If they become 20-30 goal seasons he will look very different

Genuine ball winning midfielders that can kick goals are worth probably 2x Stewarts

Bolton is a good player and 20 & 1 isn't an easy thing to achieve, it looks like there'd be heaps of players covering that line, but there's not.

There's 4 players in the league that currently cover it (Bont, Petracca, Martin & Bolton), so it's a good criteria for some of the most damaging midfielders in the game. There's really no half forward that has the motor to get it 20+ times across a season and still kick 1+ goals a game.

Funnily enough, Jaidyn Stephenson is about to become the 5th player in the league to average it this year, he needs a single disposal, it would be interesting to see where Richmond fans rate him vs Bolton, as it's a good litmus test for their bias given they are quite similar statistically.

This was a great take from last year, sad to see Stephenson drop off, but he doesnt get clearances and CP,

He is nowhere near superstar level yet, I certainly think he is on his way to getting there, but he needs to do it constantly for 2/3 seasons in a row, like McLuggage has done.

There's no questioning his talent, but on output he isn't currently in the top handful of players in his draft year.

I put Bolton’s name up in the AA thread. Kids a gun and he’s only going to get better as he builds upper body strength. I didn’t see his potential a few years ago and he has certainly surprised.

There is no shame in being named behind AA/BnF winners, and there’s no reason why he can’t jump ahead over the next few years. You’d be stoked if he becomes a 3 x AA like Stewart.

Yes, my view is that Bolton is an absolute gun who is on par with 4 or 5 other outstanding players from this draft. There is no logical argument to suggest he is the clear and undisputed best player from this draft, as it stands
