I’d take mcluggage over Stewart. Stew is overrated because his stats are inflated due to how useless the rebounders are around him.

Given Henry was Runner up B+F and Bews has dramatically improved - I'm not exactly sure that's correct...

I'd have him above Setterfield, Ladhams and maybe O'Connor.

On Setterfield he needs to move again, I think the ceiling is still there but he isn't breaking back into that midfield.

I like English's chances of moving up this ladder over the next couple of years. Strong start to the season, was dominant last week and is starting to find a lot of the ball around the ground playing an intercept role, as well as his clearance numbers going through the roof (6th in the league right now, averaging 7.33 per game).

Rucking is still a work in progress, but is notably stronger this year in holding his ground and will evolve to probably be good, not great in that department.
I said it before the season started that pre knock out he was looking good after he looked lost if he could move on from that and get his head right he will be an elite ground covering ruckman like cox and white.
He will finish in the 10 by the end looking this year that his getting over the head trauma.
It was a massive incident

100%. People forget how well he was playing early last year before he missed over a month with a concussion. It clearly affected him in a big way.

Listened to a podcast with Adam Treloar a few weeks ago where he mentioned Timmy as a potentially All Australian this year. Obviously he was probably dealing in hyperbole and I'd be pleasantly surprised if he made the squad of 40, it is quite redeeming to have your teammates speak highly of you in a public forum based on pre-season form and perceived improvement from last year.

Shai Bolton is Gary junior combined with Buddy and Nat Fyfe except better
He really might me.

Was excellent last night. Has easily the most talent in this draft. Might be the best player in the comp in a few yrs.

Will Brodie making a lot out of his time at Freo so far.

Averaged more than 20 disposals across the four games this season. Career best 36 disposals last night, along with 20 contested possessions and 6 clearances.

Crazy that he didn't get more game time at the Suns. Like Lyons seems just nuts that they didn't want either of them

Shai Bolton currently ranked the 7th best player in the league atm , yet some don’t rate him the best player of the 2016 draft lol

So this is how you rate them?

1 - Bolton
2 - Williem Drew
3 - Will Brodie
4 - Issac Cummings
5 - Jy Simpkin

This is your top 5?

I don't care about AFL rankings. Is there any player right now you'd want with the ball in thier hands ahead of Shai?

Issac Heeney.

Bolton's good is very good - no doubt but he did this last year. Started the season strongly before falling right away. He can't do that if he want to be one of the best players in the comp or from his draft year.

29 coaches votes round 1 - 12
6 coaches votes round 13 - 22.

Consistency is key.

McCluggage had 66 coaches votes V 35 from Bolton. Its clear who was better.

Plenty. A couple that play for your club I'd rather have the ball in hand.

I completely agree regarding Shai consistency. Fell away massively last year. Issac Heeney has also not been a picture of consistency throughout his career either plus he is 3yrs older.

McCluggage is also ahead of Shai in his body of work at this stage in thier careers. But Shai has the potential to be the number one player in the game in the next 3yrs. How hard does he want to work for it is the big question.

Interesting that the measure of a player now seems to be coaches votes.

Shai Bolton is the only one that has received coaches votes while playing in a grand final, a premiership in fact

He also has finished 4th in the best and fairest in a premiership year, and he did it as a 21 year old

I think that means he must have been pretty consistent and brilliant.

Its also weird that Shai is being judged on his consistency when his ceiling is higher than any other player in his draft pool and perhaps the league

I mean if he played to his ability every week, he would win the brownlow and the coleman, he is after all human, judge him against his peers, not against his potential.
