My only concern about bringing in Rockliff and Lewis is kids getting disgruntled at playing in the VFL. We need to make sure that all of our young gun mids don't feel like they're being stiffed for game time and seek opportunity elsewhere - imagine if Oliver/Brayshaw/etc. walked out right before the older guys were dropping off/retiring.

It's a careful balancing act.

Also if they do come in, then giving Trengove a year might be a mistake in hindsight. No chance in hell that he gets a game next year.

TBH I would just take your 2017 first rounder... would probably be pick 14-18 if you land these trades. I like the Dees my favourite Vic club and its awesome that you have dug your way out of a shit pile. Hopefully the Lions can emulate your rebuilding success.

Fair enough, should work in some handy vets and fringe mids for some kind of pick coming back. Would like to see the Lions have a bit more support for the young'uns.

If youre good enough you will still get a game. If you want to crack the shits and find a game somewhere else so be it. This is why its good, the young players with talent who want to explore their options elsewhere will turn into draft picks. We need draft picks.

Rockliff gets a lot of ball, but isn't very damaging, and has a poor off field attitude. No for me.
Lewis on the other hand will be a fantastic pick up.
