Just in other news Thompson is through to a quarter final of the Quindao Challenger.

Ebden won through qualifying in Taipei and is a set up in round 1. Di Manaur had a good first round win but lost in round 2.

Saville, Whittington (0-6, 0-6), J P Smith all lost early this week in their challengers.

Jasika has just been training, heading to Asia soon

Anyone know how scrict they are on injury and using a protected ranking? Could Tomic 'fake' an injury, take the rest of the year off and maintain a reasnoble protected ranking when he returns?

It is just if he keeps playing he will be outside the top 100 by years end and he clearly doesn't want to be out there.

Update from Wally Masur:

Kokkinakis has had full shoulder reconstruction, struggling to recover. Has been having a hit with Federer recently. Was aiming to play Madrid but that appears unlikely.

Millman. Off the radar a little bit. Loves his commitment but Wally believes he may have rushed his recovery following hip surgery. Will be aiming to qualify for French Open.

James Duckworth will be back for grass season and keen to get the ranking back up. Couple of screws put in due to injury.
