If Lever leaves, and we get a top 10 pick in return and take it to the draft, we should be getting a young midfielder into the team to develop into an elite player.

The main four I'd be considering that would be around the range (depending on whether we'd get the Pies or Dogs pick) would be Adam Cerra, Charlie Constable, Nick Coffield and Paddy Dow

That's a fair point, I'm not suggesting Lever going is a good thing but if it gets us a gun young midfielder then it COULD be a win.

I've heard he's just OK, he's on the Oakleigh Chargers 2017 list as an under ager but is yet to play a game for them this year to my knowledge, certainly didn't play here last week in Ballarat against the GWV Rebels. I take he hasn't shifted over to Adelaide yet and is a boarder at Xavier College and playing for them in the APS system which is a very strong Competition with many high end draft picks coming through there. Played juniors for the Kew Comets.

Made the bests only in Round 8 of the APS Comp but if you scroll through the results there's heaps of players that will go in the early rounds of this year's draft that's why recruiters are all over the Private Schools Comp.

Edit : BTW Zac's only listed at 180cm and 67Kg.

Guess we just have to wait and see. Very surprised to hear he's that lightly framed, the picture must be playing tricks on my eyes.

Being a man that likes to throw an extremely early 'crow' prediction,.. See below :)

Currently Crows holding Picks 17, 35, 53, 72, 90, 108

West Coast trades picks 10, 27 for Crows picks 17 + 53 for Mitch McGovern, (unfortunately I am thinking this is the best we'll get)

Crows then hold picks 10, 27, 35, 72, 90, 108

Pick 10 - Best available (Either Key Forward or Midfielder)
Pick 27 - Best available (Either Key Forward or Midfielder - whichever we didn't take with 1st round selection)
Pick 35 - Best available (Best available, if huge Ruck talent available I'd jump at that)
Pick 72 - J.Edwards FS pick (likely a bid comes 36-50 - which will downgrade our following pick too..)
Final two picks (whatever # they end up being) - Upgrade Hugh Greenwood + Alex Keath

Rookie Draft - Best Available Tall talent,. whether that's a Ruckman or Ruckman/Key Forward. (time to play the long game in terms of options as Jacobs moves into Twilight of his career in the next 2-4 years)

I'm also expecting that we get busy in the trade period and move 1-2 players for additional picks, but way too speculative at this stage.. IF/WHEN we win the flag,.. likely a couple of our fringe players could attract 3rd/4th round trade compensation if traded..

I know a few here have rated Fogarty highly, the news of his recon after quiet form could allow him to slide, but probably not to an Adelaide pick.

Any thoughts on this kid? One who might slip down to us?

Top draft prospect set for knee surgery

DRAFT prospect Darcy Fogarty's season has come to an abrupt end, with the South Australian requiring knee surgery.

Fogarty started the season as one of the leading contenders for the No.1 pick at this year's NAB AFL Draft, but struggled throughout his state's national carnival campaign.

The robust and physical forward, who can also play in the midfield and has been trialled in defence, carried a small knee complaint throughout the under-18 championships.

It wasn't severe enough to stop him from playing, however it has worsened in recent weeks and the surgery for the small meniscus tear will end his season. He has refused to blame his form struggles on the injury.

Recruiters had hoped the 192cm Fogarty would be able to return to club side Glenelg and recapture his best after the championships, but the injury blow will leave him as a difficult prospect to assess.

Might explain his form at the under 18 champs.

Wouldn't be surprised if he ends up a mid second rounder. Weak combine, and now a knee reconstruction means there are a few questions marks that need to be raised.

We gotta be asking for next year 1st rounders in any trades, we've got to get Rankine somehow.

Trust the system, he's South Australian which will mean our shit house development will hinder him until he's an early 2nd rounder. ;)

(I can't think of a highly rated South Australian 17yr old prospect that didn't slid during his draft year, Aish maybe?)

Where did reconstruction come from?? It is a meniscus tear - that isn't a major injury.

personally I will be wrapt if he slides to our 1st round pick.

Toumpass stayed strong. What ever happened to that guy? Still running around in the PAFC magoo's?

I'd imagine after the success of Lever and now Burton, the bung knee wont scare teams quite as much as it did 4-5 years ago. Fingers crossed it does this year and Fogarty slips to us though. I like his game, but wish one of his coaches would make him stick to a position.

So how will we use our 4 picks in the first 2 rounds?
we will definitely have 2 first rounds (maybe 3 if we can get a first rounder for McGovern)

Gov may stay and the Lever pick/s may be ontraded for another player (hopefully) unless it's a 2018 1st rounder which we should keep unless we get an absolute jet.
