Surely we cop Zac Bailey if he lasts to 30. Gonna be a jet, calling it now. If not him, like the look of Petrucelle or L.Fogarty.

Sold on Bailey, like L. Fogarty...but not so much on Petrucelle.

Rayner, LDU, Dow, Cerra, Coffield, Constable, Naughton, Brander, Ballenden, Stephenson
Murphy, Brayshaw, Clark, Bonar, Higgins, Houlahan, Allen, DFogarty, Hayes, O'Brien
Balta, LFogarty, Richards, Naish and Kelly (maybe Eagles take him before we get the chance) = 25 players. Maybe too many here?

So after that we may have: Bailey, Miers, Moore, Ling, Garner, Stoddart, Worpel, Floyd, Petrucelle, Spargo.....and others, of course.
If it did fall this way, which of the bolded would you want?

I'd be targeting a midfielder even if we take two with #3 & #10. I think Bailey is our guy- If he was 185cm+ and had slightly tidier disposal, he'd be a top 10 midfielder in the pool. Also hold Starcevich, who you haven't mentioned, in high regard. Stoddart and Ling are nice pacy and tidy rebounding half-back/wing options.
If I had to order them in preference:
Bailey
Starcevich
Stoddart
Ling
Worpel
Garner
Petruccelle
Miers
Moore
Spargo
Floyd

I would draft Bailey before 20. So I don't think he makes it to 30.

He has a wonderful sidestep, and is an excellent mover in traffic.

Moore looks like someone we'd like.
Seems to have the work ethic akin to Fisher and can kick a goal.

Probably not as accomplished as Zac in the midfield. I was big on him earlier but considering what could slide he is a bit further down my list of preferences now...not that we don't need good forwards!

IMO, some or all of Daniels, Starcevich and Patmore should be in that conversation.

I'm with you, I'm convinced he'll end up a steal at 30.

I think I have watched his highlights more than any other player.

Crippa and Kennedy dish to this kid in congestion and he will weave his way out.

Went and had a look at Baileys highlights as a result of your comments. Really liked the look of him. Looks very good around the clearances, very comfortable with contested footy. As the highlights went on noticed his kicking was a bit hit and miss. If he was a quality kick would probably be a first round pick.

If his contested footy transfers well to Afl he may not need to be a great kick as an inside midfielder. Will be interesting to see how clubs rate him.

He moves really well inside the stoppage and is great by hand, but his kicking gives me anxiety. I know he's been working on it but nothing I've seen from him has thrilled me from that perspective.

His work at stoppages is so exciting. Agree his kicking is a bit suspect.

Riley Stoddart...would be nice to see a Simpson clone running around for another ten years.

I like him, but a little vanilla and I think he's more in the 40+ range.

If anything, he's slid. If you want a guy that fits that profile, take a look at Houlahan.

Agree. I'm just looking at other options.

My guess is there will be a major slider like a L.Fogarty or Murphy or Ling or even Higgins that we may get lucky with at 30

Stoddart - Will develop into a very good player. His run & carry off the HBF in WA through the championships was very impressive. Has speed, good leap and not afraid to hunt the ball. Second half of the season was thrown around the ground somewhat, but handled it well. Has a nice left foot

Starcevich - Underestimated him at the start of the season, but impressed every time I saw him. Very strong over the ball and deceptively agile.

Ameduri - One from left field that isn't getting much attention, but think he will develop into a very good player. Very strong at the contest and relishes body contact. HF that I believe could play through the middle, would be a very good late pick up

What are your thoughts on Polenta?

needs cheese to have any real flavour impact - even then I like to fry it in cubes - be careful though, it is very fragile in the pan - match with a wooded chardonnay and green salad (leave the vinegar out of the dressing)
