Did see these highlights of Rankine recently and was very impressed - haven't seen many highlights reels like this from underage players.

But as everybody has said, underage form is unreliable.

Holy shit underselling there a bit. What a highlights tape, I can understand why Briztoon is so high on him. Some of the things he did were absolutely freaky. Looks a bloody good talent

Haven't heard of Baker, but this does look pretty impressive

On another topic, it feels like the Paddy Dow love has increased dramatically over the past month or so despite the lack of any match reports mentioning him. Don't think I've seen him mentioned in any weekend wrap-ups really since the carnival - is he playing at the moment? Just a bit quiet?

Hasnt he been playing APS footy?

lol at that guy who had the ball before Baker. Kicked it 2 metres while being tackled and followed up with a wild hack off the ground that somehow ended up as a goal assist.

He's been playing school footy for Geelong Grammer.

There are weekly reports on the APS and AGS school footy, just not much on BF.

And was it him that just racked up his 3rd straight BnF in the firsts? Years 10-12

Can you imagine Rankine and McCluggage playing off our inside mids of Berry, xxx and xxxxxx, with Witherden and Cox following behind down the wings.

Pretty sure our inside 50's will improve out of sight.

Sorry, incorrect. Oskar lives at Gordon Park and plays for Aspley in the NEAFL.
Hope he gets a crack at it somewhere as it has been a tough year for his dad and his sister.

Briztoon was talking about Paddy Dow. I believe.

lionshine I see Liam Ryan kicked another five for Subiaco on the weekend (makes 60 for the year) - Link
Super talent. That takes his tally to 60 goals from 18 games. I get the feeling he doesn't actually have the desire to make it at the top level though. It appears he is happy cruising along dominating in the WAFL which is completely fine by the way. I'm not knocking him. Not everyone necessarily wants to be a professional athlete, even those with the talent to do so.

Tim Kelly on the other hand has spoken of his desire to make it in the AFL and he had 30 disposals, 7 tackles and kicked a goal over the weekend in the WAFL. I wouldn't mind us picking him up as a mature aged midfielder. Could be another Zorko. Kelly received an invite to the national combine iirc which means 5(Or is it 4?) clubs have requested his attendance.

Dow and Cerra are who we are into at this stage. Wouldn't mind either of them TBH. If we finish 3rd off the bottom one of them will be there you will think.
It doesn't surprise me our recruiters like Cerra. He finds the footy and uses it well, win his own ball, he's clean below his knees and composed under pressure, he tackles hard and he's shown he can go forward and kick goals. He's also a two way runner. Seems like the kind of player our recruiters would love(And all recruiters for that matter which is probably why he's rated as a potential top 3 prospect).

I was replying to the question under the video about a different player.

That is the most impressive package I have ever seen.

Pies beat Port this week then we are in the cusp of pick 10. At best Port finish 8th thanks to the Saints falling over two weeks ago. But worst case is we end up with pick 11.

Finals to come though. That could easily change.

Keep on eye on this young man at the draft - Oskar Baker. Local product, his dad played for Windsor Zillmere. About 19 years old and was in the Lions Academy but was cut when he was 16. Interest from all over now, including us. I'm not smart enough to put some video here but if you YouTube his name it brings up a nice couple of highlights.
Is that the ginger ninja you're talking about?

All aboard the briztoon Izak Rankine train by the looks of it.

As much as l like the look of Rankine, l am trying not to get my hopes up. You would think that he would go very high in the draft (i.e top 3) which means once again we would have a bad year in regards to the ladder. I hope that we do really well next year and l will look at the players around us.

OMG wow, impressive would love this kid at the lions

Rankine is going to make some people look very silly when he plays AFL.

Time, pace, vision and composure. Nice attributes to start with.

Gotta admit.

That was amazing.

There will more than likely be live pick trading on draft night next year. I would move heaven and earth to draft Rankine. I know what you are saying, though. I just believe he will be a game changer and match winner, and would round out our future starting midfield. I will cry when don't draft him because of ladder position.

Have to remember, that is just Rankine's highlights from this years U18 Champs. There's much more footage online. I do not have any concern of Rankine carrying his form in to next year, barring injury. He's been playing like this in the SANFL for the past two seasons.

This is the clip that hooked me. Rankine playing SANFL as a 15 year old (youngest ever to play SANFL).

And this is last week in the SANFL.

My one knock on Paddy Dow is that I haven't seen depth in his kicking. Does he have the ability to kick from outside 50, or hit a target inside 50 from the centre square. I don't have that concern with Rankine.
