I've been driving the Tom Collier bandwagon since Naught Seven.

Massive kick for a kid. That was as long as ben graham's kick for geelong. Impressive. Still have my doubts it made it without bouncing. It took a while for camera to catch up. But impressive none the less

Used to love reading up on the current draft group a lot years ago but now I have other things that take up my time. I enjoy it once it's a week out and all the phantom drafts come out. 2-3 players that are an improvement on players like Bell, Freeman and Bewick and I'll be happy with the draft.

I think our teams ok atm and they just need another 20-30 games before they can break tackles or make them stick. Whoever we draft isn't likely to make an immediate impact, they will just be part of our midfield rotation.

Keep on eye on this young man at the draft - Oskar Baker. Local product, his dad played for Windsor Zillmere. About 19 years old and was in the Lions Academy but was cut when he was 16. Interest from all over now, including us. I'm not smart enough to put some video here but if you YouTube his name it brings up a nice couple of highlights.

He was great when we played Aspley. Wouldn't surprise me at all if he was rookie listed

Some notable occurrences in the weekend's TAC Cup games.

Jake Bradshaw (F/S Daniel) kicked his first TAC goal for Murray, finishing with 12 disposals.
Dale Cox (brother Cedric) was quiet - 7 disposals. Looks like Tom Berry didn't suit up but the Rebels beat Murray by a goal.

Cam Rayner kicked two goals and was the Western Jets' best in their six-point win over Oakleigh. Rayner had 23, 11 tackles and kicked four behinds. His partner in crime & fellow prospect Lachlan Fogarty was similarly inaccurate (1.3) and finished with 17D & 9 tackles.
For Oakleigh Higgins had 27D, 6 tackles and kicked 1.1 but wasn't named in the bests...

The Falcons continued on their merry way, smashing Gippsland. Gryan Miers (Dalhaus 2.0) booted six goals and finished with 25D. Matt Ling (21D) & James Worpel (18D) were other notable names in that game. Bottom-ager Sam Walsh had 37D & 8 tackles to be named Geelong's best.

Calder Cannons beat the Knights by, yep, you guessed it - a goal. Coffield had 24 and kicked a goal in a losing effort.

Hunter Clark was BOG in Dandenong's demolition of Bendigo. He finished with 32 and two goals. Not someone I've heard talked about but Riley D'Arcy kicked 4.5 and had 26D.

Finally, Eastern Ranges ousted the Dragons by 7. Ruckman Sam Hayes kicked 2, got 20D and 24 hitouts while Jaidyn Stephenson racked up some big numbers - 39 touches, five tackles. My knock on Stephenson is disposal, so it's worth noting 16 ineffective kicks of 29. Ryley Stoddart had a big game too, booting 1.4 and finding the footy 29 times. For the Dragons, Will Walker was the best with 31 disposals. Lachie Harris did not play.

Very much an outside player but has good foot skills and footy smarts. Haven't seen much of him since the juniors so can't add much more. He could be our new Polec replacement

On another topic, it feels like the Paddy Dow love has increased dramatically over the past month or so despite the lack of any match reports mentioning him. Don't think I've seen him mentioned in any weekend wrap-ups really since the carnival - is he playing at the moment? Just a bit quiet?

we should try and keep our later picks open as some mature agers do fall through who can deliver pretty well, Luke Ryan went at 66 last year becoming a bit of a game changer for Freo
