2017 Fixture

🥰 Love BigFooty? Join now for free.

I thought as we finished bottom six we were only supposed to get a return visit against a top 6 side "minimum 0 maximum 1" that should have been the Eagles. Then they go and give us Geelong as well.

AFL hate us. They go and break their own published fixturing format just to stiff us!

http://www.afl.com.au/fixture/fixture-explained

It should read fixturing rules explained until it suits us.

This is a very fair draw for us.

From what I saw, Steve Rosich looked as happy as a pig in shit with the draw.

No Launceston trip or Darwin is helpful.

No big deal on Friday night games. Can't stand them meself.
When was the last time we won a Friday night game ?

Always love the chip on the shoulder from the Freo faithful.
I have tried hard to pick holes in this fixture and.....

Probably the fairest fixture I can remember...in fact I will go out on a limb and say this is the BEST ever.

- Travel 5/5 -1 * Brisbane followed by bye; 2 * Adelaide is good and 1 * Sydney. No complaints!
- Games - fair for where we finished. The comp is very even and teams like Essendon, Carlton, Pies, Port, Melbourne could be anyone's guess.

We have moved from $51 to around $24 in the odds, and I think we are a lock for the 8, so if you have a house - chuck it on the Dockers, they are a lock for the 8. small print:anything I say is usually wrong so ignore any gambling advice from the worst Freo punter in history.

Back to common sense : IT IS A GOOD DRAW! Please stop the whinging and ridiculous analytic unfair thing. No 8 has ever been the same in history and it won't be again this year. GWS, Sydney and Dogs will be top 8. That is all I know, everything else is history in the future. So we play these 3 teams once, and will most likely lose them (especially because 2 are away games - and I think we can beat the Dogs...again).

If you are still with me, hear this, with a full strength team we WILL win most of our home games against medium teams. In the past we had many tough home games which we lost, and many medium games away which we lost. The equation is easier when you lose away hard games and win easier home games. The comp has evened up - sure...

This fixture is actually pro purple.
This, a thousand times this.

Some people in this thread really need to have a good, hard look at themselves with all their whiny crap. The whole world is not against you or freo. Ffs I really fear for any children you might be influencing with your attitudes.

For interstate fans/followers of the Dockers, let's hope some or all of the 4 Saturday night matches (hosted by Fremantle) are broadcast on Channel 7 and regional affiliate stations. No visit to my state next year.

Is there any banner to 'hop' through?

Is the 2 Freo matches for watching from WA, or elsewhere?

i reckon we will get a thursday night game, we will be sent to ballarat, gold coast, brisbane, darwin, canberra, sydney, launcenston and hobart, cause the AFL hates us and always troll our requests

Despite the long trip for the club, Blundstone Arena, Hobart versus North Melbourne, would have saved me driving to Launny again. But it's good the club have been given a year off from such travel.

Tasmania is nothing like Antarctica, Grape Bear.

On that poorly scheduled match against Hawthorn in July 2015, Fremantle played in 12 degree weather.
Did any of our players complain? No.
Did it rain, snow, or hail fall anywhere? No.
Did frost or ice develop anywhere? No.
You could learn something from that Grape Bear and cut the judgment.

Do you think so? You've probably watched it more than I have.

I feel the same way about the Ballantyne derby. Awesome game to win, after the siren finish, but that game was a pretty poor one overall until the last minute or so.

It's been so long since you've won one I can't really confirm that. It was all the way back before Fyfe became a walking game of Operation wasn't it?

I really hope the first Derby at Burswood is a split crowd. Not only would it be a fair way to open it, the atmosphere would be awesome.[/QUOTE]

You're only saying that because it is going to be our home derby and you'll miss out. If it was an eagles home game you wouldn't want that.

Beside it wont happen. How the hell would you decide which 25000 members from both teams got to go (remember there has to be 10000 walkups available) and who misses out. There'd be rioting in the streets of Lathlain.

it'll be awful enough with the thousands of wiggles supporters that will be able to buy walk-ups anyway.

Tasmania is nothing like Antarctica, Grape Bear. Stop exaggerating and being narrow minded. Has she ever travelled outside of WA? Ignorance, spoiling WA's friendly reputation.
When I visited WA's Perth (not Tassie's town called Perth, south of Launceston) many years ago, I didn't complain about the hot weather in January.

Oh, rly? I thought that Tasmania was where all the little fairy penguins lived.

I'm not sure what my travel history has to do with your even more judgmental tirade against me for being allegedly judgmental. Let me assure you I have traveled outside WA a fair bit - as a matter of fact, I actually lived overseas for most of my life - so thanks for your concern about my ignorance, but I don't need it.

We really should have a sarcastica font on this site.

Otherwise people should stop attacking posters personally if they're not sure that something actually hasn't gone over their head.

It's host network, so the list is for the number of games where Channel Kochie is the host network. Not sure but pretty confident that games where Foxtel is the host network are played on FTA in the away team's local market for interstate teams, eg: Freo away to Geevegas will be shown on Channel 7 in Perth but not in Melbourne.

Oh & congrats on cracking the ton. Does that mean we get first dibs on forum postings from your kids?

Positives:

- No travel to NT or TAS

Negatives:

- 2 games on FTA in Victoria....pretty painful meaning we'll be subjected to campaigners like Dermie and that smiling prick I would love to punch (Brad Johnson). Also means I'm on track for FIFTEEN trips to the Pub/Sports Bar because I don't have Foxtel

- 4 games in Melbourne and then one the VICTORIAN membership doesn't cover (Geelong)

AFL all about the fans....get stuffed on that one.

I'm not understanding why this is a negative? I much prefer pub atmospheres for games then a couch. And worst case you can get completely hammered if it's another 60+ point drubbing.

You haven't seen the pubs near my place...

Are you not actually from Perth?

By the way I don't really care about the fixtures except looking at how many times I can possibly see the team play. Honestly, good teams get through a draw regardless of time, place, or opponent. Of course many teams have it easier than others but that's something to vent about somewhere else. Ultimately, if your spot in the eight comes down to pencilling in home wins against rubbish sides, then how are you going to go when you inevitably travel in finals?

Mostly irrelevant and a little defeatist to me.

Just realised we play 9 of the 10 Vic sides at home this year. Only Melbourne we play at the G only. Certainly will add to atmosphere at home games playing all the big Vic clubs.

Because I can't get hammered in the event of a 60+ loss if we lose as I'm not supposed to drink alcohol and I can't get shitty if the team is playing like absolute pus and the umpires are being pigs.

Not supposed to is very different from can't!;)

I'd watch games at the pub but can't be bothered paying $12 a pint of beer anymore.

Watch it at Subiaco...you can pay $9.50 for something called beer whic isn't! *

The price mentioned above is predicative based on the fact the scallywags have raised the price of the medium strength liquid abomination that they call beer every year by 50cents since 2003!
