So who gets the Grand Final Week Announcement if we make it? Build to the crescendo...

Hopper : Whitfield : Kelly : ????

Good thing we got Simpson and Lloyd out of the way early;)

Deadset spewing that Giant clearance sale thread has been locked over at D&T.

If memory serves it was because every single player ended up with their own thread anyway.

Are GWS chasing any free agents this year or just keeping their list together?
Think if a suitable small forward with defensive pressure came on the market we'd be interested. We are in the same position as every other club this year, albeit with a 1000 0oint draft penalty. Our priority will be generally retain the younger guys on the list, but we'll have to trade somewhat. We rarely delist to free spots, Stevie J the only confirmed retirement, and may be rhe only one. I expect Griffen to play on

plus Patfull mate

My understanding is we have to turnover 3 players from the list. I dont think Patful counts as he was on the rookie list. With Tom Downie, and I shouldn't have overlooked Tom, and Stevie J that means at least one more?

Yep.

Perth teenager Cody Ninyette could swap places with Tendai Mzungu at Greater Western Sydney when the AFL national draft is held in November. Perth are increasingly confident Mzungu, who has played four games for the Giants this season after overcoming a severe hamstring injury, will return to the Demons next year to see out his career. And his likely return could be enough to persuade veteran midfielder Clint Jones to remain at the club for another season as part of its rebuilding campaign. But 19-year-old Ninyette is not likely to be part of that rebuild after emerging on the Giants’ draft radar. Lightning fast with hands and feet, though weighing just 62kg, Ninyette produced a strong finish to the WAFL season, including a seven-goal haul against East Perth, with most of the goals kicked on West Coast defender Jackson Nelson.

You would think that as well as Downie and Johnson retiring that both Smith and M.Kennedy are traded and possibly Wilson as well. There is also a bit talk that Mumford might call it a day and With Brogan leaving at the end of the year could take over as the ruck coach.
Where is that Mumford talk coming from? I've not heard anything regarding that

Luke Hodge...player/coach role??

If Wilson leaves on top of Stevie J and possibly Mummy we may need some experience. He's still playing super and would be a good brain to bring into the club.

Thoughts?

Again **** wit
It's all based on a couple of games when he's been hamoered by ankle.
I think it's pissible he goes and hopefully a coaching role if he does. All deoends if he expects to be able to oresent with his body in good shape after an off-season surely. If he can play on, if he cant or if he risks being crippled for the rest of his life then retire.

So, under this scenario the equivalent of 320 points each for Dev & Matty - about pick 47 apiece. From what we've seen, GWS can be willing to take undervalue in trades to achieve a desired outcome (e.g. the Sunshine trade last year valued Sunshine very lowly, but it got us into an early pick before academy matching was likely). So, I would not be surprised if GWS did something unusual in trading guys who were leaving, but pick 10 alone for those two (equivalent of pick 27 apiece, very undervalued already) would seem enough. I'll try not to be surprised this year by anything the list management team do, though!

Still, the Hopper & Kelly threads demonstrated that a lot of the ITKs are full of garbage.

Slowly the OOC players list is reducing and from those that are left and I did have a SC question
If in the extremly unlikely event that the Giants win the premiership this year are bonuses paid out of the following years SC or how does it work? I think I read somewhere that was the situation
Just in terms of how it would work for list management?
So the OOC and my thoughts on their options
Smith Trade
M Kennedy Trade
Stevie J Retired
Downie Retired
MDB offer 1 year
Mzungu Retire
Sproule Re-rookie
Patfull Retired
S Reid offer 1 year/NEAFL player coach
Stein Re-rookie

Although I don't want to trade those players your conclusions make sense

I'd rather shift MDB to the rookie List and retain MK

Draft:

Spargo
Powell
Shipley

Rookie draft

Richards
Myers/COA
If we can make it work that's great. I'm sure there is a tipping point without cap space... don't know if it's before or after MK

And I think MDB prob deserves the senior spot... he has earns that
