Probably a poor mans Levi Casboult. Can clunk a good mark but effort is a bit inconsistent. No Freo fan is going to cry if they lose him

I reckon if we trade gibbs, we should use the first rounder we get for him on Stringer. Stringer has issues off field but if club thinks he can be managed and helped then he comes cheap. Real match winner on his day. Only 23 yrs of age so in our demographic.
Say Lever goes to Melb for their first round pick, Adelaide on trade to us + 2nd rounder for Gibbs, we trade first rounder (originally melb) for stringer.
Have appreciated Gibbs over the years but time to let him go.. if we could get pick 16 or 17 take it and run as I don't think he's even currently in Adelaide's best 18
No clue. Gibbs is best 18 in every AFL team.Have appreciated Gibbs over the years but time to let him go.. if we could get pick 16 or 17 take it and run as I don't think he's even currently in Adelaide's best 18

Was on the Gibbs thread on DTF earlier today and told them the same thing, actually i told them he would be their best mid. They didn't agree. They reckon Greenwood and Douglas are better. Absolute morons.Last 2 years he has been fantastic. Disappointingly I see him actually doing better in a much better side. Will be a star in the Crows line up

Does SOS pass on Rayner knowing that he may knock JSOS out of being the 3rd tall in the forward line?

Gibbs would be top 5 or 6 in every team in the comp name one he wouldntNo clue. Gibbs is best 18 in every AFL team.
I think Gibbs is a great player, but the general consensus on the Crows board is that he's below Sloane and MCrouch. Further, BRouch has been monsterous over the last month. So if he continues with the rate of improvement, Gibbs will behind him also. So at best, Gibbs will be the 3rd best Mid at the Crows.Definitely better than Greenwood and Douglas by a long way, but i can see their side of things if they want to argue Sloane and now Matt Crouch are better and younger. I still think Gibbs is a better individual player than them as well, but can see their side of the argument with Sloane's influence and M Crouch being AA this year.

With the emergence of greenwood (below Gibbs) and the significant improvement from the crouch brothers, the need for a premium Mid just isn't as high as it was last year. Hope that gives this board some perspective from our end.
I'd be more than happy to keep him. If Gibbs trade talks resume this year between Carlton and Adeliade, I'd expect SOS to be starting somewhere around the Lever pick plus their 1st and I'd expect Adelaide to start somewhere around just their first, but if a middle ground was met and we were offered their Lever pick and it was around pick 10, I'd be disappointed if SOS didn't take it.
I think the Crows would think Lever's trade value is higher than Gibbs.
We'd be thinking of keeping pick 10, not using it as a straight swap for Gibbs. We'd be looking at trading pick 17 for Gibbs (just guessing). Wouldn't that be a win/win and suit both clubs?
No doubt..If you don't win the flag this year then you will go hard for Gibbs. If you win it there may be a lesser need for Gibbs. Gibbs going from a no.2 at a weak carlton side to a number 3 or4 midfielder at the crows - he would dominate

Moot point if he goes for Fogarty.Does SOS pass on Rayner knowing that he may knock JSOS out of being the 3rd tall in the forward line?
You'd get 10 and a 2nd or 3rd for Lever.I think the Crows would think Lever's trade value is higher than Gibbs.

TabernerDid i miss something? Who was he referring to as the poor man's Levis Casboult?
Taberner
I think we would do 18 and 19 if we were going to on trade one or both of the picks. We may even pay some of his salaryNo doubt..
Gibbs would improve any team.
Only argument is what afc will pay.
Somewhere between the lever pick and our first.
Id be pushing our first but thats biased. How about lever pick 10 for gibbs and next years second?
Or pick 18 and 19? If that comes for cameron.
Imho gibbs value has.gone down as compared to last year.
Imho both supporter bases might not be totally happy with the outcome.
