Looking back at the trade we did with the crows for Menzel, barring some miracle game from Troy this weekend, I think it's safe to say that it has been another big win for SOS' trade this year..
In:
686 disposals, 216 marks, 120 tackles, 10 goals
Out:
38 disposals, 10 marks, 13 tackles, 4 goals
In fact if we go one step further and look at our total player in/out vs the Crows, the output doesn't look as bad as some may think..
In:
1302 disposals, 356 marks, 247 tackles, 46 goals
Out:
614 disposals, 157 marks, 138 tackles, 59 goals,
In:
686 disposals, 216 marks, 120 tackles, 10 goals
Out:

I get the depth comment in regards to Graham, Boek, Smedts, Kerridge as we have all seen these guys at AFL level and know what we are going to get. Some have peaked and some are still improving but i don't see how its the same for KJ. The fact he has not had a call up at all this year is a real worry. If he gets 1 more year or demoted to a rookie spot then i trust the club but i don't see it happening.
In isolation, we got reamed for:
Jacobs
Betts
Menzel
Let's not pretend otherwise.
What SOS did with the assets received from Menzel are what makes this look ok. Adelaide should still be considered winners if Menzel pulls the finger out though. Imagine what he could've been under Bolts.
Jacobs - We wouldn't be saying that had have we taken Luke Parker and not McCarthy, but yes, we accepted unders.
Betts - If we did what Eddie says we did to him,............well, we better have got a little smarter.
Menzel - We didn't get reamed given the output and we did effectively get Kerridge, Plowman, Lamb & Phillips for him.

Sam's 30 next year, don't know contract status is, and don't know how many more years he can give. Having returned from a knee reconstruction, big Sammy would have trouble turning around in the forward line, as apposed straight line in defence.
May take most of the season to get his confidence back?

I usually note that but thought we had enough of a win, even without it.
Would have been interesting what may have come about without having upgraded that pick by 3 selections.
It's not out of the question that we may have missed on Curnow, but much more likely that we wouldn't have got McKay and if we didn't get Mckay?
Maybe Milera? Maybe Gresham? Burton? Not out of the question that we would have taken Cuningham earlier.

Why would he.
Menzel was traded because his dedication to AFL wasn't what it should be. You would think Carlton trading him would be a wake up call but he never responded. I actually think bolts would of been good for him to develop now his stuffed.
