Murph needs to step down as captain. We need someone who isn't an introvert, someone who actually models what we want our players to do and be - confidence, assertiveness, competitive both ways... There's just something about Murphy that doesn't do it for me as captain. I'm fed up with the shyness and awkwardness in the media, the fact he doesn't compete in the air, the quiet nature on field.

We can do better.
What rubbish

I totally agree

What do I care what primitive man enjoyed?
If any man, woman or child here that told me they enjoyed getting punched in the face, I'd suggest they go and visit a therapist.

It's where we are for now and violence still seems to have a place here..........I'm just saying that it's a pretty shitty place.

I think you have to high an opinion of the human race. I

Whilst Murphy is no Sticks or Nichols I think he is a good Captain. Had to do it during one of our worst periods and now a rebuild. Not easy. He's not a physical beast. Can't be something your not. He does give his all and work his backside off each and every week. He gives everything for the club and has had a great year.

I have no issue with him staying as Captain for another year or two whilst Cripps develops. I'm in no rush to make Cripps Captain yet. Still young.

Not easy being Captain of a poor or young side

Why Cripps? Doc is the natural leader. I'd like to see him take over next season and have Cripps as vice captain.

Totally agree Soapy. Now is a time for stable leadership.

Sums my thoughts up perfectly.

He got cleaned up early and is tracking similarly to SPS.
We may not want to pay a premium for Hopper but he is a nice young player.

if the blues keep drafting draft all Gws reject players, we will still be bottom 4. Hopper is a C grade player.

I'm all for the draft but happy to trade for certain players if deal is right. SOS won't over pay

Same.

We're only thinking of free agents / out of contract players, but anyone could announce their intention to leave, go back home etc at seasons end.

Pick 3 is a great pick but if there's proven young talent, especially midfielders available for trade, we'd be crazy not to offer it up as part of a deal.

Kid had his ribs stuffed early in the game. Cut him some slack. 80% of our players yesterday looked done too. Dont read much into round 23...

Round 23 isn't a factor when you are trying to cement a place in a side playing for home ground advantage in the finals.

You can't have a Captain that get's physically rag-dolled. It's embarrassing for everyone.

Murphy is a handy outside linkup player, that's it.

I think that's a bit harsh. I'm not saying he is a physical player but look at his contested possessions etc. One of our best. Plays outside and inside much to the detriment of his own game

A really balanced analysis SkyhorseTamer

Generally you would be looking for sliders with these picks.

Pick 17 - Spargo - I still rate him as a first rounder, could be available with our next pick, but wouldn't risk it. Wins his own ball, smooth on both sides of the body and harder than a cats head. Other options Ling, L. Fogarty. Worpel

Pick 35/Early 3rd - Stoddart, Hayden, Roughsedge, Houlihan, North

6th Rounder - Dixon, Miller, De Koning, Handley
Much appreciated, yeah I did my best to go through it somewhat realistically.. I make out that our forward line at best still struggles in a fair few games next season. Midfield looks promising but not finished yet and the backline is okay, however never like being an injury away from struggling (i.e. Very few players on the list capable of playing small in defence).

I wouldn't be judging Hopper on recent form.
Has had interrupted preseasons, along with a couple of injuries mid season.
Still rate him as the best pure midfielder along with Oliver in his draft year

I'm all for Hopper but you can make observations in the meantime though and last night, he just wan't particularly inspiring.

Maybe he's still a little lost in his role or just hasn't quite synced up with the GWS game-plan. Maybe.

Jones is working very well within Boltons strategies. Can't see too many reasons why that should change and if anything, he'll be receiving more support once the likes of Marchbank & Macreadie get stronger.

What will help Jones is a deeper and more accountable midfield.

Too often the opposition have too much space and time when delivering inside 50. Makes life hard for our defenders.

Absolutely. It helps forwards too.

Pretty sure that hasn't got away from SOS and Bolton.
Imagine if SOS plucked out a KPD with our first this year. Come on SOS....Naughton will be a beauty........:)

No idea which way we'll go and I still ebb and flow on whether Kelly is the answer, given the potential cost, or whether we deepen things by way of let's say a Hopper and keep our firsts intact.

How is this list management?
