Just on Kelly, for me he's that very awkward price where he's not going to AVG enough to be a keeper, and he's not going to earn you enough coin either.

Like the way he goes about it though.

Keeping him? Dropping him?

Had him out for Treloar for a few weeks now. Career-wise, his SC peak ended 3 years ago. While he's still Pendles, and likely to be 115-120, he's 29 and I don't see 120+ in his future. Priced just above what I see him averaging so it's less likely that he'll be out of reach price-wise at upgrade time.

Prestia, Heppell, Viney, Wines and Shiel have ~105 potential, with Cotchin the only one who could get near 110 imo

A bit under that price range, but I'm really liking Josh Kelly.

with Tom Mitchell gone all of Parker, Jones, Lloyd, Mills and Heeney are going to get more midfield time and up their average by 10-15 points or more.

never before has the loss of one player left such a gaping hole in a side.

TMITCHELL is just that good!

Jokes aside, im in the mills camp. I think he is in for a big year. Surely they want the ball in his hands, and with Mitchell gone they need to send his rotations somewhere why not send a few to mills to get him into games.

I really like Dumont as a mipriced madness option. Good contested%, good user, good tackler, Stepping in to a hole left in the mids by Boomer/Dal/Wells.

Still don't have the guts to pick him over JOM on the cheaper side, or Beams or Kelly for a bit more.

I have O'Meara ......but my head says Hawthorn will rest him for a number of games (one off's) to look after that knee .....i'd be careful of 6 day breaks

That said, you just have to pick him and run that risk

Dont be so sure. Burgoyne has missed very few games since crossing over. Im hopefull OMeara will be the same.

But i am concerned O'Meara will get heavy game time on the flanks (like burgoyne did) in the easy win games or blow outs (if there is any).

I can see it happening O'Meara is 70 points to half time hawks are up by 40 points, then is moved off the pill and finnish with a low 90.

Also, as part of this assessment, we shouldn't be looking at players who average 100+ over the course of the season. You only need someone to average 100+ after you trade them into your team.

Im seriously considering him right now. Its Stewart or Taranto very undisided which way to go if either. Not the thread for this discussion tho.

Just happy to see his name pop up and know im not the only crazy considering him.

In 2016 5 forwards averaged 100; 6 defenders
In 2015: 10 forwards, 2 defenders
In 2014: 6 forwards, 5 defenders
In 2013: 9 forwards, 1 defender
In 2012: 10 forwards, 5 defenders
In 2011: 9 forwards, 5 defenders

He was awesome post bye last year moved more into the guts and forward of center.

If he plays full time mid/fwd id be the first to trade him in. But even as a Hawthorn supporter i find them hard to predict. Wait and see.

Treloar's 40K cheaper and shows signs of at least matching Pendles for output. Fyfe, Titch, Beams all look too good to pass up at their starting prices and you can only start so many premos in round 1. So for me it sort of comes down to Pendles vs Danger for the last premo spot. Danger's more likely to pull ridiculous games out as a captain option.

Midfield yes.
I want my midfield to all be over 105+, with the exception of maybe M8, who I can deal with a 100 average

I'm happy to aim for a 90 average for a defender or forward, but with the mids, I'm striving for 110+

Started Pendles over danger last year and regretted it. Only because i have always started selwood and dont want the tradition to die. Maybe i can start a new tradition 'DangerWood'.

Actually only 5 DEF averaged 100+ last year (one being Bob Murphy), and only one of this year's FWDs averaged 100+.

As stated above, there were six: Docherty, Simpson, Shaw, Boyd, Murphy and Enright.
