I don't think the AFL fix games, but they certainly seem to give things a nudge in the direction of the preferred outcome.

They ignore trade rules when it suits their desired result, e.g. Geelong trading a pick they shouldn't have, or Davis announcing he'd signed with GWS before that was allowed. They manipulate the draw and schedule to get what they want, performing teams getting rewarded with prime slots when it's th right teams, when it isn't then prime slots need to go to clubs who need the exposure...

It's why I'm not getting too excited about our chances at a flag. We're good enough, but we're too far down the priority list for the AFL.
#1 Would be Geelong - A Dangerfield flag is their wet dream, especially after he misses a Brownlow.
#2 The expansion market Giants.
#3 The miracle comeback 0-6 Swans.

Can you get into a showdown with a 3 game membership? Being trying to research it but its not clear.
I heard if you get there early enough (crowd below a certain point) you can get in.

They only seem to have three open at Etihad for Essendon because of their large supporter base. Of course, it gives you the shits when 20k of fans turn up and you are in the nosebleed section. I have found with a few AFL teams that they open parts of the first and second tier a few days out from the game

I will take it seriously.

Given it was only earlier this year that he said there are two truisms in life

1) You don't touch another mans wallet

2) You don't joke about a Dangerfield suspension

There may have been a third one which implied that a woman was a possession only to be touched with consent in the form of a wife swap situation but I can't be 100% sure.

Yes, but you have to be in the first few thousand, not sure exactly how many get in.

EDIT: That's my understanding anyway.

There were whispers that Tippett had an out clause.
I find it a massive stretch to believe that even the AFL would pre-emptively rig a game due to unfounded rumours of a player having an out clause to his contract.
It's laughable.

It's laughable to think that the AFL would "rig" any game at all.

Sure is but would you expect a bunch of spineless executives to enforce their own rules when they couldn't rule on the Dons fiasco and Jobes Medal.
