I tried Google but all I could find was an Australian company hoping to make bucks selling sunscreen in China.

So at least it was footy-related.
Another potential new sponsor for Port...

?..strange .....also read that Tania is no longer an active lawyer, but runs a IIRC a skincare product business .......obviously Tania doesn't want James involved
Botox?

IMO one of the great govt decisions i can remember ......clear them out of the country & i hope they take the same view here in Melbourne with the Apex Gang

Yes, why should we accept criminal behaviour - lose your rights & sent back where you came from.

We have too many immigrants of need who we are better off supporting.

I'm not being flippant. TO me it is the ultimate act of selfishness. When you see the aftermath suicide brings to those left behind, there is no way anyone could believe they chose this path for the good of everyone else. The guilt felt by loved ones is immeasurable and everlasting. There is no respite for them, ever. James has four little children. Can you imagine the impact on them if he'd succeeded? Hird needs help. He has for a very long time. I hope now he can acknowledge that and work towards recovery.

^This.

Actually if this was an attempt, it will likely affect his children badly - they will likely need counselling as well.

I have seen first hand the long-term utter devastation that parent suicide has on a family. It affected the children left behind very very badly - they became really screwed up adults. While I genuinely understand how people can get to that point, its a shocking thing to do to the people you love. I think it was DAGM who nailed it when he said he has been treated as a deity all his life - and he has now discovered he has feet of clay (like the rest of us). He lived in a narcissistic bubble and once that bubble burst, sadly for him reality hit hard. While no-one ever wishes this on anyone, as others have said its such a shame that he didn't take responsibility early on - all this could have been avoided.

Also from Jenny: If he'd put his hand up at the beginning and said "I was assured the supplements were all WADA compliant, I am devastated to learn that there is a very real possibility that some were not. I want to apologise to each and every one of my players for putting you in this situation and for not having systems in place to ensure this never happened. For this reason I am standing down as coach of the Essendon Football club, but will always be here for the lads

He could've been a hero of the piece. He could have made it about the players, the club, and the greater good, rather than himself. In other words been a true leader. And it would have been the making of not only him and his club, but also of his children. It all could have been so different. :(.

The sad thing is that if he had just fallen on his own sword back in 2013 and admitted responsibility, it most probably would have all blown over now and he would have regained some credibility for manning up and taking one for the club.

He risked everything (money/reputation) to try and get out of it on a technicality and lost. He now needs to make peace with his actions and move on and find something new because he'll never be involved in football ever again.

Regardless of all we do and don't know I'm not getting any pleasure out of this.
This guy has tasted some real highs and some bitter lows. Just complete shitness from start to now.

I hope he isn't broke and relying on the public medical system. If that's the case he's screwed.

Why the F...k don't Hirds people give the guy the space he needs ......his friends / lawyers / leaches are his worse enemy now .......why bloody bring this shit up in the media at this time FFS

TANIA Hird says her husband’s health is her “primary focus” as a close confidant on Friday night accused the AFL of hounding the Bombers great.

James Hird’s former lawyer, Steven Amendola, on Friday night said the ex-Essendon coach was the victim of years of bullying by league chiefs.

Details also emerged on Friday of a stinging verbal assault aimed at Hird by the wife of a prominent judge at a Christmas party last month.

Hird had also been told incorrectly — according to the AFL and SEN — the league had blocked a move by the radio station to recruit him for its 2017 football broadcasts

“They (AFL) have relentlessly trashed his reputation and misrepresented the facts and the context,” Mr Amendola told the Herald Sun.

“I hope they are satisfied now but it should hardly be surprising — even for someone with mental health as strong as James’s — that this has happened.

“They have to bear some responsibility for it.”

Mr Amendola added: “From what I have observed over the past number of years, it seems that you can glass your partner, you can sleep with your best friend’s wife and the path to forgiveness will always be open in AFL land — but if your name is James Hird that path will be blocked.”

Whilst I'm not a fan of the bullying tactics the AFL do use, the Hirds do need to take responsibility, rather than comparing James to others. Let's not forget he oversaw a regime using experimental drugs on his players & massively failed a duty of care on young men.

I hope he regains full health, but the everyone else is to blame, when failing to take full responsibility for own actions is getting rather boring. If he wants to properly heal his mind, come out & truly apologise for the hurt you have caused others.
