Im convinced :):drunk:

I would say that I'll finish above all of those people. Good luck.
Good luck yourself. Although its sounds like you have it all worked out so you wont be needing 'luck'.
Dont mess around with your rucks. Set and forget. Pick those fwd/ruck options in your forward line to cover your ruck premos if they miss a game.
They just don't have the same ceiling and scoring capacity as what your out and out rucks do.
If Ryder goes down or scores shit, it will be hard to replace him. Not as bigger issue in your fwd line where there are far more options. E.g. To a rookie. (Where as that isn't really possible in the ruck line).
I would usually agree with you, but this year there is a cloud over almost every ruck selection and I cannot be 100% on any player in the ruck this year.
You suggest to put the spend in early in case a player goes down and that gives you more options to trade to a better performing player. Doing that sounds like

" setting a field for bad bowling."

Srs, who are your 100% set and forget rucks ATM? Cause I reckon they will change come round one.
I'm looking at Jacobs this year if he has had a good preseason. Gawn is overpriced but if he stays cool and only drops by ten percent then I'll be laughing.

Jacob's doing 1/2 preseason....knee tendonitis iirc

Gawn + Witts, locked.

Witts averaged 72 in 2014 & 2015. As the number 1 ruck I think he can manage 80. Really not liking any of the ruck options bar Gawn. Witts and Grundy were about on par with each other 2 years ago.

Anyone picking Sandi is probably an anti trump supporter, just a huge unrealistic optimist. He's already watching from the sidelines.

considering he was dropped for Currie mid year last year and came back looking like Motlop, i highly doubt it
Nichols wasn't dropped mid year. Missed rds 5,6,7,9 & the final 3 weeks. Totaled 15 games, 10 of which were from rd10 onwards.

Once he returns (guessing rd3) Witts will be splitting time in the rucks at best. When Currie is up and running he'll be in the NEAFL.

I reckon the 3rd man up rule change will bring guys like Witts, Nichols, McEvoy etc back into play more. Playing undersized rucks and relying on someone else coming in to help are gone.

Reckon I will look at the above three and Grundy to line up alongside Maxy. See who does what over the next month I guess.

Going from Grundy to witts allows a Direct swap from mcluggage to macrae

and suddenly my forward line is looking far healthier.

Witts is absolutely locked if he gets through the JLT unscathed.

LOL, Thanks, not some bad end of season stats. PF final a shocker though.

Yeah, that negated his prior good form in a few people's eyes / put it in perspective.
Was up against two decent standard blokes, to be fair - but compare that to big Max vs our three rucks that day last season...

Only thing that concerns me about Witts is the R9 bye, in which we still have to have 22 players playing in Supercoach. Unfortunately Ryder has the same bye so that rules out the logical FWD/RUC swing replacement. However, if Witts averages 70ppg (almost worst-case scenario apart from being dropped), he will rise to 300k. This will be enough to hopefully use the cash from downgrading another rookie to bring in a premo ruckman who has proven themselves, whether it's Grundy, Goldy or even someone like Sauce.

So so tempting...

I agree and it gives us a better analysis of who is the better R2 premo to go with gawn. Can't all be to safe we need a couple of risks

The only way Witts is making my team is strictly as a bench cash cow hoping like hell that he'd get to 400k+ by the bye and I can make a downgrade and use the 300k for a straight rookie to premo swap elsewhere

If you start Witts as R2 then I'd suggest he would be already traded by his Rnd9 bye. After 6 payrises he'd be well and truly ready to go, even sooner than this, not to mention it would be time to jump on whoever is the other elite performing ruckman you don't have. So his bye is irrelevant really.

Gawn obviously
Thinking about Tom Boyd remember Hawkins in the 11 grand final
His career took off after that and Boyd is only 290K

Doesn't matter what each position scores. You start cheap rucks, you get more to spend elsewhere. If best value is in rucks compared to elsewhere, starting with that value means you will outscore others. Basic maths. Ryder is better value than most premo rucks.

Having said that I doubt Id start him in the ruck and have no cover if he or my other ruck miss a week.

By all means go for it. But I'll be starting with the proven method of set and forget. Too much risk involved in going any other way. If your "value" pick shits the bed in the rucks, you'll probably end up burning 2 trades in order to correct it. Where as if your value selection in the fwd or def line does, you have far more options. Basic knowledge.

So for the umpteenth time, who are your 2 'set and forget' rucks? Can't hide them from us! [emoji3]
