FWIW I don't think Fagan's comments were over the top... You'd welcome any player with Charlie's level of talent

Haha a journalist asked whether Fagan would have liked Cameron and he replied "absolutely, any team would love him. "

Pyke searching for excuses because his team is continually leaking talent.

IDK. I thought it as fairly poor from Fagan TBH. Season is not over and Crows will be playing finals should have brushed it off IMO like all other coaches do. Wouldn't like it if it was another club expressing public interest in one of ours.

What difference does public vs private make. No-one publicly said they were into Schache but did that make anyone feel any better? You're either into someone or not. Denying it or just quoting the standard "it's disrespectful to talk about" line just makes you full of it.

Bit of honesty is refreshing in the AFL sometimes.

Plus no-one is listening to Don Pyke anyway. The man is that boring no-one ever wants to ask him anything

Absolutely agree its not great form from Fages.

On matera I think his lazyness has been product of a pritty shit culture. Ours seems to be on track. Matera has kicked bags of 4 or 5 from memory. Can get very dangerous.

A while back(this season), Chris Scott was asked if he would like Ablett back at the Cats.

Can't remember what the exact words were but essentially it was an unqualified "yes". The only reservation he expressed was that it would be a hard deal to get done because of the mechanics of the (hypothetical) trade and cap considerations

No-one seemed to have a problem with that.

What's wrong with giving an honest answer to a straight
question?

Instead of the usual double talk, evasions and AFL-speak.

"yeah, nah, I can't comment on list management, it's not appropriate to answer that. We're always looking to bring in talent, we're just concentrating on next week with the players we have, blah, blah....."

All that does is fuel speculation.

Would you prefer that?

I'd be chasing Matera instead of Cameron for sure. He won't cost much (maybe a 3rd rounder) and has loads of ability. Kicked 6 against the Hawks this year and dominated. Kicks alot more goals than Cameron and is more skilled.

Can be lazy at times, but that seems to be the problem with a majority of the suns players.

If we could get this done that would be brilliant.

Wow, Adelaide even posted about it on their official club twitter. Way to make a storm in a teacup of a non-issue. How awkward will it be when he's in QLD next year training for Round 1?

Think it's time i change my dayne beams Collingwood avy for a Charlie Cameron one.

Also, will be hilarious. Especially if we keep rockliff as well

Quote from the Pyke article on Fagan.

"It's unusual you would see comments about players who are under contract.

"I don't think it's appropriate you talk about players at other clubs that are under contract."

So what has his club and his players been doing about Gibbs the past year and a half?

Nice comparison.

Fagan: "I’ll leave that to David Noble."

Scott: "It is a question that should be directed to Stephen Wells."

Fagan: "If Charlie Cameron is available and interested, I’d love to have him."

Scott: "In very simple terms, would we prefer Gary Ablett to be in our team, yes."

Fagan: "His age profile and talent would certainly be something we'd be interested in."

Scott: "You’d use in both parts of the ground [forward and midfield]. Geelong people, for the last 15 years, have said he could play in a similar manner to his father late in his career."

Disagree, **** all the other clubs and their coaches we don't owe them anything.

He is also likely getting shipped out because of off field issues. No thanks. Why dont you guys take him, you give us Cameron and we give GC a third rounder.

Not sure on Lonie.

Fages sees having damaging ball users in the back half as the key driver of his game plan. This is why we drafted Witho, Cox, have seen Rich become a permanent fixture there and Paps not so.

The interest in Savage is strong.
I hope your mail on Shane Savage is correct Fitz Roy . I think he'd be a really good addition to our side and his game style would really suit the game plan Fagan has implemented.

Lol no they aren't, a mark is a mark but some players bounce the ball 2 or 3 times in 15m and some run the full distance without a bounce. Just a weird stat to be crowing about.
So you're saying a mark that's a backwards chip is as valuable as a contested mark 10 metres out from goal? You're being a little precious and it's not like Cameron bounces the ball 4 time in 20 metres.

We need speed and he has some decent skills so why not chance a 2nd round pick on the guy.

I had the impression he's a bit of a turnover merchant.

I'd take a Don Pyke press conference over a Chris or Brad Scott one any day of the week.
