With the Saints having two late top 10 picks, and if it was unlikely Rocky would net band 1 compo (and the club wouldn't match a lower offer), anything better than 19 would be a win for the club. Rocky for straight swap for St Kilda's second top 10 pick (#9). They can still go to the draft with their best top 10 pick (#8) and would probably feel they "won" that trade by adding an AA to their squad to go full tilt for finals next season.
If Schache is already gone (hope not) and no changing that, and if Richmond is the only real suitor, I doubt they'd part with both. Miles + 15 + their 2ND rounder (we're over a barrel but if if the rumors are true and Schache is goneski and that's the best we can do...).
Then on the phone to Freo for their #5....they need warm bodies, perhaps #12 & #15 could do it. Or #12, #18 + Paparone. Three top ten picks (#1, #5, #9) at the end of it all, still retaining either #15 or #18 (slider/Cameron?), #32 (to cover drafting Connor).

Schache is contracted for two more years, we're not "over a barrel". If we don't like the trade no deal. I agree that Richmond's 2017 / 2018 first round picks would be the minimum. Perhaps a talented fringe player like Ben Lennon as steak knives.

If Rocky leaves and we end up with 18/19 one scenario would be trade both to West Coast for 13/30. similar points value. West Coast have 4 retiring players at least so might be happy to get two picks in top 20 instead of just 1.

Works for us as that would mean pick 11 would need to be bid for us to have to match with one of our early picks on Ballenden (unlikely). and we'd have 30 and 41 after that to match bids all way to pick 13.

We'd have 1,12,13,30,41, 73

could still look at other trades too like 1 for 2 and 24 (Gold Coast) and use 24 (or 30?) to Adelaide for Cameron.

(or 12+13 for pick 2 or pick 3) if we really think getting players in the top 4-5 prospects in this draft is the way to go.

Unless Dodoro wanted to **** with Brisbane and cause a rival club to "burn" an early pick in matching an academy selection, I can't see Essendon bidding on Ballenden. Reading Essendon fans comments, they are either keen to trade pick 11 for Jake Stringer, or to draft another inside mid and talk about Andrew Brayshaw the most. Though Melbourne at 10 would have to be keen on Brayshaw as well.

Secondly, if the club is keen to trade for Charlie Cameron, we'll likely need a mid second round pick to trade to Adelaide. I don't see GC willing to give up pick 24. More likely to trade pick 2 and ~34 (depends on where Richmond finishes) for pick 1.

Last year Port Adelaide traded picks 9, 19 & 47 to Sydney for 14, 17 & 31.

So Sydney drafted Oliver Florent, Will Hayward & Darcey Cameron.

Port drafted Todd Marshall, Sam Powell-Pepper & Willem Drew.

Pity there aren't more W.A. kids rated in the top 30. Just Oscar Allen (KPF) and Aaron Naughton (KPD). With the exception of Zac Bailey from the N.T. and playing football in S.A. and Charlie Spargo from country NSW, but playing for the Murray Bushrangers (and arguably will have to play as a small forward in the AFL), every other midfielder in top 30 discussion is from Vic.

I wonder if WC would consider possible go home factor in doing such a trade.

At 18 & 19 you're either looking at outside mids like O'Brien or Ling or the perceived third tier inside mids like Lachlan Fogarty, Petruccelle, Bailey and Worpel.

There's some talk of Rory Thompson a possible out from GC. We are definately short of a red haired key defender on our team and he's a Queenslander. I know we're very tall already but could he play a lock down role to help out McStay and Andrews?
I would be all over Thompson good player. Frees McStay to play third which I think is really his role (to be a real star).

Club house leader in 'the worst 2017 trade scenario' competition.

on reflection...it is actually :) but I don't think we gonna get much for Josh (other than tigers first rounder this season) if he goes to tigers...may be also swap our second rounder with their frst rounder for next year and hope we don't finish on the opposite ends of the ladder like this year

Schache & 18 for
15, Shai Bolton, Miles & 2018 first round selection.
Would love to add Shai to the Lions.

I would rather Schache flame out and get delisted by brisbane than give Richmond a pick 2 KPF. **** that club I ****ing hate em.

Hi Briztoon.could i add callan england from WA into the mix, maybe starcevich as well
the left field option with a backpocket option as well(at the very least) would be Balta, depending on growth spurts, could be a Joey kennedy type-keep the speed ,build the endurance.Ed richards also is being tried in the midfield and already has a fallback position-great pace and kick and defensively minded.
my picks-coffield,constable, bailey, miers, balta, ballenden and payne, wellings, england, ballard, richards with jack clayton and lach harris rookie listed if not some of the others.
2018-sadly cant get Rankine but can get sam walsh and another good mid with our second pick

can we get one classy elite mid out of the academy by 2022 ?

Thoughts on a Josh Bootsma revival?

Mason Cox recently signed and he is looking okay currently rucking for Katanning in the UGSFL, could do worse?

Mitch Honeychurch is out of contract at the Bulldogs and not looking like he will be offered one. Would be a handy pickup for some depth?
We can't afford to add more depth players to our list. We are very tight for spots at the moment. We need to add potential A grade talent to our list with the spots we have available.

Well it was 12 and Henderson who was a recent pick 7.

Hendo was a pick 8 :P

we did get back pick 28 though....which we used on Callum Bartlett (Gunston and Christensen went after that pick....anyway)

been said enough already, was a horrible trade for a player a club was trying to move on, will unlikely see anyone paying a ridiculous amount for someone Stringer on the market this year
