As a RFA which would only cost us salary he'd be an excellent Priddis replacement.

I think a FA is the way to go IF the club decides it wants to add experience. We don’t want to be trading early picks for 25+ year old mids unless they are superstars.

But I’m not yet convinced that is the way we should go. Maybe we just need to bite the bullet and back in as many kids as possible?

I suggest the board runs the business not the footy department

As it should in so far as a board should not be directly involved in the football department.

Saying that it should be demanding better on field performance and if that doesn't happen do something about the organisation and people responsible for on field performance.

So back to trading.

There is room on the list to take 5 at the main draft with Hill, Lamb and Wellers still in doubt. Also in doubt are rookies McInnes, Snadden and Tunbridge.

Thinking is that Hill will be cut, Lamb has been offered a 1 year but will explore trade options and Wellers has to stay put until the trade period is over.

St Kilda are looking for a big fish in the trade period. Will they come a knocking for Gaff? Would Acres be part of the deal? Wait and see I suspect.

Will we get more success in the trade period with Masten? Rocket Eade mentioned that he was a possibility and I am not sure whether there were no takers or he was not wanting to move believing he would get game time. A 3rd round pick or an upgrade on an earlier pick would be ideal.

Not sure what the view on the rookies are - I suggest Tunners time is up and his body has let him down, not sure how long McInnes can stay a rookie but they may keel him based on losing Drew and Giles. Snadden is improving and no drama about another year but should not be elevated.

It is going to be a long fortnight ahead of us.

Interesting Eade said a Masten trade was a possibility. Ex Suns coach and the Suns is the obvious destination for him. The only thing Masten has going for him is gut running endurance.

Agree if we get any more than a pick upgrade that would be a bonus. If we got what Rosa netted us we would all pinch ourselves.

I don't think we necessarily need to replace Priddis with one player, we just need to replace his output which can be spread over new players to the 22/ improvements from existing players in the 22. I think we'll improve defensively in the midfield almost by default without Priddis and Mitchell in there.

Anyone for Jack Trengove (Demons). Recently delisted but feel like once he completely overcomes his footy injury will be a valuable contributor and would be a great story.

As far as I can tell he has lost his speed & will never get it back Hate to see a good player struggle. Saying that he's a pure footballer and leader & I'd back him to be able to adapt & play a role

I admit I haven't seen much of Mountford but his Colts video is actually impressive. Had some strong clearances and a bit of toe. I'd definitely be open to making an approach.

He got a bit more of a run at it in the later stages of the season... to be honest I think he's good enough to firm in as best 22 next season. Has some nice little tricks.

I also think he's going to re-sign and that's come from talk from our CEO (not to mention somebody on our board who just asked Declan if he was staying). The main sticking point there though is talk of homesickness has been rife since the start of the year but at the time he wasn't getting picked. At that time there was also talk Fremantle were also very keen. If I'm wrong and he does force something to get to you then you'd be getting a very talented kid no doubt.

Rockliff has kicked only 87 goals from 154 career games - he won’t kick more goals than Lecras (who still averages more than 2 goals a game) in a season ever. In any case, why should we pay an overrated, slow and Supposedly divisive midfielder a high salary to play in the forward line? Even Josh Hill will comfortably kick more goals than Rockliff if they both played in the same forward line. If you want to get rid of Simpson in a hurry then Rockliff is definitely the one to get.
