Jarrad Schofield will get the Coaching group jumping ...
A month or so ago, someone on here wrote a very good post on how kicking can improve significantly once in the afl system. Ben Cousins was used as an example. In his junior days he'd push the ball down onto his boot, rather than guide it. On his left foot, it was even more pronounced. I think another couple of players were mentioned too. Whoever that poster was, point me in the right direction. That was a good read.

I'm talking about timing, it can't be taught. You practice enough, you will become proficient. Timing is why some players can kick further than others. Not power. It can be taught but it has to be done at an early age. It is simple mathematics that kids growing up now as a collective will not be as good kicks as kids growing up in the 70's. The number of times you would kick a footy growing up in the 70's compared to now could be 15-1 or upward of that.
It's pretty simple really, if you do something often enough you will get pretty good at it, kids today just don't kick a footy often enough for it to become elite. There will always be individuals who can but across the board it's near on impossible for a kid today to be a better kick than some one from the 70's growing up. Just plain and simple numbers.
Did you also wear an onion on your belt because that was the style of the day?
What do you think we did? Giles? That's the closest we will go to delistingThought we would see some delistings yesterday
When I moved to Australia I had to learn the basic skills of the game by watching games and doing it my self as my parents had no clue about the game. Within a year of learning the game I had mastered the art of hand passing and kicking and handpassing on both sides of my body(eventually I became a left handed handballer). few years later my parents put me into junior footy and even though I was one of the worst players in the side, I was one of the better kicks and handballs on my opposite side.
I haven't played footy in ages and picked up the footy for the first time in a couple of years last week and even tho I was rusty at first, I hadn't lost my left foot kicking.
It's a bit sad that an immigrant kid could kick on his opposite but so many elite AFL players can't.
My opinion of Motlop has gone up after this finals series.
Master and Schofield for Motlop please.

Have you watched the eagles train? Its actually scary how often players are scrambling off for the ball in the warm up kick to kick. Whether they are just being lazy or not... but fm poor attitudes even in warm ups easily push throughWith all due respect Vishy that's a ridiculous post. Just cause you can still kick in a straight line on your left in kick to kick doesn't mean you're better at it than any AFL player. Considering how little time they have to execute these kicks it's a silly comparison. I'm sure they can all happily kick on their opposite foot off one step to a stationary, 25m target.
He's not an A grader though, but would probably have an A grader price tag which would make it a no for meMotlop was definately playing as it was his last few games in Cats colours, also to get a d2cent pay rise. He played well inthe last two finals, one of the few Cats who showed pace and dare I mention it.......swervability.
Ive been saying we should look at him as FA pickup, he would definitely improve our midfield and ability to move the ball up field.
Id rate him ahead of Rockliff as he is yonger, not coming off a shoulder reco and has the traits we need.
Watch some footage of Darren Jarman kick, poetry in motionPeter Matera was the best on the other leg eg GF 40 - 50 metres out on the run no problems goal post height , Matera the best you will see .
How disrespectful dude. I was 50m out and hitting campaigners on the tit while manoeuvring around around an enthusiastic Labrador. With all due respect Vishy that's a ridiculous post. Drawing a long bow here but whatever I feel like having some fun
Somebody recently posted that nizzy was recently seen having coffee with hogan. Got me thinking that it wouldn't be the worst idea to trade jk if we could in fact obtain somebody like hogan plus a midfielder. Would kind of fix our needs both short and long term. A team like geelong would be interested because they need somebody better than Hawkins to win it next year. Anyways I got super carried away...

Obviously this will never happen but in theory is this fair?
Damn right, was supernaturally balanced.
Shuey of our modern group is the best at it, can easily go either side.

Tho my torpedo kicking needs work. Shanked one so hard I nearly hit a sleeping baby on the other side of the park.

We delist players every year. Turns out they are waiting until after trade period before we do itWhat do you think we did? Giles? That's the closest we will go to delisting
I'm curious - Post your history for the last 5 years mate.I think it's about time I take over the recruiting for the Eagles look at my success in the phantom drafts![]()
