My original comment about young players learning to kick both feet was a bit tongue in cheek but it appears I'm not the only one that gets frustrated watching players getting caught out, skills are going to be an inherent problem when you are recruiting players that are athletes that u are trying to turn into footballers

Dustin Martin is very one sided but compensates by having a pinpoint and long checkside kick. His goal in last quarter last night perfect example.

I have no issue with people being left/right dominant if it doesn't effect thier game. However if all you have to do is to coral them on thier wrong foot it's very much an issue.

GWS's coach Leon Cameron was the best dual sided player i've ever seen/played with/played against. Similar to Mitchell in accuracy but adept over distance whereas Mitchell limited to <40m.
As to Schofield - undoubtedly gets results - polarises those around him.
Do we mind that he polarises people if he gets the desired results?

Always appreciate your input BOND 007 , is there anyone in particular that takes your fancy from a draft/ trade point of view this year?

A bit like average income

Although the numbers being greater likely reduces the impact of outliers.

I mean the average income in Australia is only $69k. I've always found this mystifying. Are there really that many fully grown full time adults making less than $70k?

On topic, I was surprised at Scott's comment though TBH. 10 guys at $370+ on the list seems very low.

Cameron did have great skills, he was completely deadly if given any kind of space. Although, a bit like his club, he could be impacted by physical pressure. Not in any way saying he was soft but he was more finesse than physical.

Schofield is his own man, like many leaders, and he can be abrasive. But that's true if many good leaders and many really good coaches. The secret is often the group they are part of.

Personally I think potentially abrasive characters are in short supply at West Coast.

I guess you can argue that the end justifies the means. A few at WC might struggle with his approach & methods
I guess it depends who exactly will struggle with his approach. If he pisses the admin people off, meh. If he can't work harmoniously with Simpson, that is another thing entirely.

I work in a situation where skill mix and personality have to be considered on a daily basis. Sometimes things get shuffled around for harmony's sake. Sometimes you just have to tell people to put their big boy pants on and get on with what they are employed to do in a professional manner.

Always worth a re viewing :)

Those who should be around WC's pick & in no particular order ; O'Brien, Stephenson, Brayshaw, Coffield
Thank you for your input, it's always appreciated.

Would you like to see the club try to secure another 2nd rounder this year either via pick upgrade involving trades (possibly players like Masten and Schofield) or by swapping next years pick? Then target Tim Kelly. (or potential slider)

Do you rate Kelly as a 2nd round talent?

Clubs are realizing more about being in the here and now - some clubs understood this more quickly than others.
To answer your questions - yes and yes

I would be thrilled if we were able to draft a player from that list, Brayshaw in particular .
