If you get AhChee, I reckon he will be a good move , hope he stays at Port personally but would totally understand if he leaves for more opportunities.
Seems like a great guy , highly skilled , can take a ripper mark, kick straight . He's been very unlucky not to get more games , would've won the Magarey ( Sandover equivalent) if he hadn't played AFL as well and he lit up the SANFL Grand Final on the weekend .

Because in the AFL games he played he had little or no impact .
Maybe new club new opportunities but buyer beware .

Godfather32 I think its just lack of opportunity due to the over abundance of talent on their midfielder depth chart:

Wines, Ebert, Boak, Hartlett , SPP , Robbie Gray and Wingard all ahead of him in the midfield rotations depth chart.

Was just kinda interested from a Port fans perspective, I mean he's been there 6 years and someone like SPP comes in and plays the whole season straight up. If he was any good you'd think he'd have played a few more games.

Yeah and a fair point .
It will be interesting to see what Dave Omsby comes back with.

Bad luck Tunners. Hillydardz is next on the block I think. McInnes may be kept as a rookie which I don't mind either way, or traded/picked up as dfa. Isn't the worst insurance.

I doubt Ahchee will be that good. Obviously Port has better depth in the middle than us, but the fact that he has continually struggled for games, despite having some obvious gifts, has to be a concern.

Jetta's biggest problem is field positioning. Sits in acres of space hoping while letting his man run free. Maybe if he played around the contest a bit more he wouldn't be overlooked.

Has the game gone past jetta maybe ? he struggles with the game plan he's brilliant when he does it but as an afl footballer he doesn't do it enough clearly , I'm not sure if any east coast team would keep him

The problem that Ah Chee has is every chance he gets at AFL level he's played mainly forward.

He's more a midfielder who can swing forward. If we get him that's the role he needs to play.

I did make the point about Ports mids and depth, but just some of the talk has been a bit OTT when it comes to his potential contribution to our side. Happy to be proven wrong, though, but he isn't going to be this consistently game changing inside mid in my opinion.

Should be better depth then what we have right now meaning probably get games and is only 23 yrs of age ..I would hope only a fourth round pick .

That I agree with, I think the club is going to target lots of mids from all over the place and hope they hit a few bullseyes. Maybe he will be one. Will hopefully offer more than Masten.

I think what gets lost with Naitanui's jumping and tapping is that his handballing is actually quite a weapon. Imagine he and Ah Chee in tandem at stoppages.

I'd be quite happy with Ah Chee in the middle instead of Redden next year.

another inside mid like aaron hall

Aaron Hall is far from an inside mid in my opinion. His a receiver like Gaff but with pace and better kicking skills but know where near the endurance of Gaff

I'm not quite sure why he gets dropped, he was getting picked last year as an inside mid / half forward and he beefed up accordingly. His tackling / blocking etc was fine but he wasn't getting enough clearances , he was always deemed unlucky to be dropped though , he'll probably fill out a little more which will help him if he goes back into that role .
This year he lost a bit of weight to go more outside / half forward. his early 2nds form was good but it wasn't till about round 7 he got the call up , Aaron Young was in front of him but wasn't performing .
He did quite well , had a 3 goal game and a 23 possession game but he'd have quiet periods sometimes and he got dropped after about 5 games where again he was deemed the unlucky one .
He got the odd game after that but he's never had an extended run .
I think it's because he's not a pure inside mid or outside or a pure forward .
If he keeps improving though he could still become a 200 game player.
His handball is a real weapon .
Like I said I hope he stays at Port , we've said we'll offer him a one year deal but I reckon it'll be a fairly low one so he mightn't be very hard to get .
I'd say his trade value is around pick 30-40
