Hopper re-signs with GWS for another 2 years
This player payrise has come at the perfect time for GWS. No surprises there.

They will retain alot of talent and have a strong list for years to come.

Even if they lose players they gain high draft picks it's a vicious cycle they're always going to get the cream lucky Gold Coast haven't managed to make the most of the massive leg up they received when entering the comp

Yeah. The only way it will stabilise is through the retirement of the ones first drafted who didn't leave or get traded. So we have another 4/5 years of it.

Don't hold your breath. There the same ones that will use pick 18 on them this year.
I actually read your comment closer this time and I'd like if that was the case.
Like your thinking.
* 3 x 11 hour working days in a row + 6 Captain Morgans = Comprehension difficulty.

Tim Kelly? Yes please. Copping a tag against Peel but still showing some class.

Also looks like a thug but the Parker kid (#34) from Souths has some tricks. Not AFL likely though.

Tim Kelly has that break away speed that could succeed or at least get games at AFL level ...third rounder is all I would give and Matthew Parker certainly has some tricks after two seasons of reserve footy .

Sloithe I withdraw my expectation of drafting ...not great today and battling injuries .

Yep, clearly he wasn't worth picking up in the rookie draft

To be fair, people have said that he has some attitude issues.

We've seen how Shane Yarran and others have turned out and that last thing we want is some arseh*le like Karmichael Hunt coming in and teaching half the list that cocaine is a hell of a drug.

Not saying Ryan is doing drugs but, you get me, a bad attitude can spread around pretty easily and, I mean, even Richmond passed on Liam. The same Richmond that took Ben Cousins and Chris Yarran... Again, not saying Liam is as badly damaged as they are/were but it's notable that 17 other clubs also didn't take the risk.

I don't know what he has been like this year but I heard that last year before the draft he didn't like training and doing recovery after games . Total lack of professionalism , just likes game day and kicking goals . I suppose it was reflected in his sub 12 for the beep test .
He was probably worth a rookie spot , highly talented youngster but needs to learn how to operate at the higher level .

Nope he didn't fill a need on the teams list thats why the recruiting team rather addressed that position of desperate need on our list.... the HBF .

Hence they decided in their infinite wisdom to instead pick that bog average "tweener" the half back flanker Tim Gorter.

Gee and hasn't that worked out well :mad: and its justifies us overlooking Ryan, Kelly, Banfield as they play in positions that we are flush with.

Why the hell would the pick a small forward or a midfielder when they could take another half back flanker.

And yes I do know that my :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: is a bit over the top..... but..... the above best demonstrates why I have absolutely zero confidence in our current recruiting staff and further more hold little hope that the donkeys will do a better job in this years draft.

Then again I would love them to prove me wrong.

Please ...please Mr O'Brien prove me wrong :praying: and nail this years draft.
