Patmore is one player I really want at the eagles - would have to take him early though, 2nd round pick, early twenties. I hope we can swing a way to get him.

That feels too high to me. I saw him playing at Claremont and WA U18 and he did not dominate many of those games. Good but not damaging enough with his possessions to say 2nd round.

Later this season he starting to get more of it and hence will be a real possibility but I believe we could wait until the 4th round.

The other midfield option at Claremont colts that showed enough was England. He has serious speed and can get separation, I wrote his carnival up as he improved in his composure as the carnival progressed. His early games saw him less effective in disposal - though not a butcher. I believe it was him getting used to the pace.

Meanwhile, Bailey Banfield is only 1 year older and polled 15th in the Sandover medal. His 21 votes were more than anyone at East Perth.

We wont get Cripps and if we do have a crack at Hogan it will be two years from now when JK is 32.

Agree with England as a player. Really stands out on the field. But credit to Jake, for continuing to improve his game as the year went on, to the point where he has been damaging leading into finals. Remember we are talking about colts and their potential to play AFL football, not a seasoned Player, where we know their limits(apologies for stating the obvious).
I too want Baily Banfield, but am getting frustrated by West Coast's lack of foresight, and now looking to pick up players that they should of picked up years ago, when they were on their radar, rather than continue down the long trodden path of 'project potato'....

I also believe its time for Nisbett to move on, been there along time. Perception that the club has turned into a old boys club so a change at the top and bring in some new blood is often beneficial. Sure stability is important too but we are one of the most stable clubs there is, especially financially.

1. He is not a leader - more a dictator that has created a yes mentality throughout the club where other and new ideas aren't desired. That has seen a club distant from Melbourne and unable to be foster creative thinking.
2. He has not owned up to the cultural problem from the drugs era and has not come clean about how much he knew (like why did he sent Gepp over as chaperone for end of year trip) and great leaders usually own up and explain what they are doing differently
3. His main focus and priority has been the commercial side of the club (which to his credit is a good one) but he is so blinded by that he is prioritising commercial success against winning flags.
4. His inability to develop a successor - apart from his sneaky appointment of his son under Vozzo that does not pass the sniff test. Rosich left for Freo because he knew Nisbett was bolted to the chair
5. A higher level of management and leadership requires a leader to deliver results through others. He is falling at this stage. Ask yourself why it was Cransburg that stated 3 years ago that the recruiting team was on notice? Surely that is the CEO and surely the last 3 years has not vindicated O'Brien and his team's recruiting performance.
6. He has created a culture of a boys club and there are too many from the past sitting in the club because they know Trev, not based on performance.
7. A good leader knows when it is time to go. He is like our list management in that he is employed past his used by date.

May I ask how you know all this?

Do you have inside knowledge or people who are involved or is this your opinion from afar?

I wouldn't be surprised if everything you have said is 100% correct.

I have multiple connections who have worked and dealt with Nisbett for over 20 years (and yes I am admitting to not being a uni student though not yet in the Eagles Chardonnay Club) and East Perth board members who observed how Nisbett operated prior to joining the Eagles. Whilst any observation has the flavour of how it is personally heard and interpreted, what I am saying is based on what I know and have heard albeit second hand but from sources that I trust. Some of these are straight facts with further research that I have done and some are that I keep a note of important statements made and I like to follow them over time.

His commercial success should be applauded - big tick. And yes the AFL would do well to get him in at this area.

But there are times when someone is in too deep and does not have the skill set to cope. It is at this time that I believe Trev should move back to a role that plays on his strengths and not his weaknesses. But while we continue to make the 8, keep the bank full and have nice things to show off-field, the board are not ready to address the main issue being the leadership of the club to make us great on and off the field.

Few question his successful and significant contribution towards our off field success, in fact he and Brian Cook at Geelong are streets ahead of their respective peers.

However his management of our ON FIELD performances, which is essentially our Football Operations has left a lot to be desired, over the last decade.

To name but four key elements of Football Operations that have floundering under his watch :

1. Recruitment and Trading.
2. List Management.
3. Player Development.
4. Strength and Conditioning.

As CEO the buck stops with him. No if's no but's.

He has come up short in overseeing these four essential components of the Clubs Administration.
Had he delivered the same outstanding on field results as he has our off field results, we would indeed be an AFL Super Power.

Thats what we should be aiming for.

Mountford isn't under contract I don't think and is from WA.

AFL Academy kid. Ball magnet, outside and quick.

Has a solid build for his height and is technically sound kick with decision making problems.

Justin Langer is now a board member so things could change , Brady Rawlings list Manager , Julie Bishop is still on the board I think we have some tough characters ready to rocknroll .

I think im the only one pleased with the way we are travelling ...we over achieved this season comparative to how we were travelling midseason , so that is pleasing to finish off well and hopefully lead into next season .
