Playing the devils advocate, it is a position we have good depth in.
If Adelaide tabled an extremely good offer, it may be worth pursuing.

Of course but they aren't going to be giving us Rory Sloane.

I cannot see any way they can get McGovern the Elder, not this season anyway.

What do they have to offer that makes sense and is worth it? I don't see a trade there really.
10 + 16 + 2018 1st rounder would do it for our club I would have thought.
Perceived overpaying but they'd need to if they want to land him.

I'd still do it for 10+16+2018 2nd rounder.
I'm a big advocate for injecting as much talent into the midfield as possible.

We'd be pretty light on for kpd in the future though unfortunately. Emac and Schofield not too far off retirement meaning we'd have to start developing someone to complement Barrass.

We could pick up Sam Collins in the meantime, not a bad player at all. (O'Keeffe is another)
Even someone like Shade who I think could blossom in the right system.

Maybe, I doubt Adelaide would do that first trade and I wouldn't do the second. I'd either want a gun midfielder or at least one of the first rounders to be much higher.

Concern would be the balance of our list. KPDs are young but Nic and Kennedy are getting older. I'd much prefer to pick up mids this year and a key forward to develop next year.

That would be the plan.

Let say hypothetically Adelaide trade 10+16+2018 2nd rounder.

We use 10+13+16+32(Kelly) to pick up midfielders.
Use the later picks for Ryan and project KPF or ruck.
Pick up Collins as a free agent.

Use first pick next year in the Superdraft to look for a JK replacement.
We'd still have two 2nd rounders to pick up a Ruck and another project tall.

Our arses wouldn't need saving so much if we have a top line midfield.

Went to the state combine earlier today to have a bit of a look.Dont know the times ran or heights jumped as they were being written down on bits of paper by staff.

A few things I can pass on were

1.Zac Langdon from Claremont won the yoyo test with a level 22.2,i think I heard an official say the record at the national combine was 22.4,so a pretty good effort.

2.Liam Ryan unsurprisingly looked to be doing well in the vertical jumps. But was eliminated early in the yoyo test, doesnt look to have much fitness/endurance.

At the the end,Hayden Schloithe was being interviewed by North,Liam Ryan by Richmond,Scott Jones by Sydney,Brandon Starcevich by Saint Kilda,Brayden Ainsworth by Dockers and we(Trevor Woodhouse and Brady Rawlings) were interviewing some guy from South Freo ive never heard of named Ryan Burrows.

Any South supporters know anything about him?

Nah, the only way I'd trade McGovern is if it almost gauranteed us a top midfielder.
Fair enough mate...It's borderline for me.
Not sure if I'd prefer a 2nd rounder from next year if the draft is that strong. (of course I'd love their 2018 first but they'd have to be desperate for him)

Who was the most aesthetic?

You’d imagine Burrows is quite in and under.
Thanks Hawkeye. (or Groucho Marx)

I dunno I just feel like McGovern is a genuine game changer and if we were to trade him out we need to make sure we're getting one back.
