This is likely to be what we could get back for Minchi. We'd probably have to trade our second or third with him though to get that sort of return.

Minchi is worth nothing. I would suggest 30% of players on most lists are worth nothing. He is one of them. Like last year when an apparent ITK said we would want at least a third for Templeton when it was obvious he had no value.

I think we over value them because they are our players. But would we pay even a third round for a player who cannot cement his spot in another team? Especially not one who can't find a spot in the 22 of a team in the nether regions of the ladder...which we were.
I'd rather try and find a new player with that.

Re Kelly

Let's say we have picks 3 & 10 this year & next years first & second rounders to trade with. What would GWS get in return?

Do we trade pick 10 & next years first?

Or do we trade pick 3 & next years second?

I reckon it would take either of the above scenarios

If Kelly keeps his numbers up all season im guessing a top 10 pick & future 1st rounder should get it done .

Definitely would go 10 and next years first, chuck some FA money at Fyfe or Dusty and draft best mid with 3.

It gives us the best chances at bringing in topv line talent.

Besides if we need another first rounder in 2018 offer Hawthorn some magic beans!

Out of those I would go pick 3 and a second

Reckon with the amount of KPPs likely to go early this year we will still get a gun mid with pick 10. And still have a presence in next year's first round

But I don't really have a clue so don't listen to me! :)

Agreed.

A good example is Koby Stevens. Can regularly get very high numbers at AFL level and is a solid player on his day. His worth last trade period was:

Koby Stevens + pick 61 + 2017 4th rounder

For

Pick 50 + 2017 5th rounder

There is no way Minch gets us anything

Wouldn't it just rub some lovely salt into Melbourne's wounds:

They get to keep Salem and Tyson (solid players but not stars) meanwhile their greatest local rival ends up with the star they could've had. Delicious!

But we already have Jack Billings?

I still like the sound of Rocky FA and two gun top 10 midfielders from draft .

Yep Florrent and Hayward show what a good draft haul can do and add Rocky to that and we look pretty good. Trout is due for a a couple of guns. Law of averages says it's going to happen.

I think roo was on high money a few years ago. Now not

I think he's still on big coin. They suggested he was on very good money still on SEN.

I remember us discussing Jascke and O'Rourke for our pick 3

that had to be worst trade scenario that the majority of posters were for, that ive ever read on here

was just all kinds of bad

Wrong

It was pick 1 for those two players & pick 4. We had pick 3 the year prior. In hindsight we probably wouldn't have lost much if any doing the trade considering we likely would've taken 2MP at 4.

thats what i thought but joff was pretty strong on it so i went with it. its actually worse than what joff had said

either way the point of my post is still there. it is still by far the worst trade suggestion ive read on here that the majority were in favor of

if you read emmas book, we were not too keen on 2MP

Oh ok. Still can you imagine the shit wr would have copped?
Like the Carlisle trade everyone would have forgotten about the later pick and bagged us mercilessly about trading #1 for those two.

I'm with ya but that trade suggestion never happened at the time so it can't be the worst.

Close to draft Trout constantly said there was a clear top 4 which included 2MP. Lever would've been nice too.

It's easy to get confused cos there's been some absolute shit suggestions over the years

Pick 10 and next year's first please and thank you. Pick 3 to use in the draft or to double down or in another trade.

Seem to remember noise from the Club last trade period that we were definitely NOT into Rocky. Things can change, but just think he's not our type or on our radar.
