Instead we used ours in 2012 on Tom Lee and Nathan Wright lol
The 2012 AFL draft hasn't aged well for anyone except the Doggies (Stringer/Macrae), Port (Wines) and Pies (Grundy). Swans picked a gem late (Membrey) and that's sort of it. There's a few other pretty good players like Vlaustin but not a whole heap of talent. The best talent were the father-sons (Daniher and Viney).

Giants had Whitfield (not a stand-out number 1 pick but pretty good), O'Rourke (moved on but struggling to get a game at Hawthorn), Plowman (decent but moved on), Jaksch (delisted) and Corr (good) in the first round. That draft hand would cripple the club if they hadn't been handed so many other concessions.

Tom Lynch claims he hasn’t thought about football future beyond Gold Coast’s 2018 AFL season
STAR forward Tom Lynch was grilled about whether he was committed to Gold Coast long-term. His answers mightn’t have convinced Suns fans too much.
Tom Lynch: As a club and as a playing group, we were really disappointed with our year. Obviously it’s not the standards we set or any club sets, to be honest. We’ll obviously get a new coach — that’ll be an exciting time, a fresh start and looking forward to next year and seeing what happens.

Robinson: Righto, we’ll see what happens. Are you ready if the club came to you over summer to extend a contract Tom, would you say ‘yes that’s what I want to do’, or will you say ‘I’ll wait until the end of the season’?

Lynch: It sounds cliche, but I actually haven’t thought about it because we don’t have a coach at the moment, so I think that’s first and foremost for a footy club — they’ll be sorting that out. We’re looking forward to seeing who gets announced and it’ll be exciting time for us.

Robinson: I know you’re avoiding the questions a little bit Tommy, but you guys fought hard for free agency, so I would expect every player coming out of contract in their final free agency year would explore and look at what offers are out there. Is that a silly thing to say?

Lynch: Sorry, it’s pretty loud in here, could you ask that again?

At this point, Collingwood’s Tyson Goldsack steps in to save the day.

Tyson Goldsack: He says would it be a silly thing to ask with free agency — I think you have to acknowledge free agency is a thing. I’d like to say you’d be silly not to have a look at free agency when the time comes up. But in saying that you want to see who’s your coach first and foremost and kind of work from there, I would’ve thought.

Lynch: Yeah absolutely. To be honest, I only saw a month ago I think that (my) free agency’s come out. I hadn’t really thought about it. I’ve only been playing seven years and it’s gone so fast. To think eight years next year has really gone fast, so I haven’t thought too much about it. We’re just looking towards the new coach and we’re looking forward to that.

By the sounds of it , he is feed up with what is going on at the Suns as well and will most probably leave as well.

My Carlton supporting brother is a reader of BF and alerted me to the 'masterplan' that SOS is working on which will result in a trade period looking like:

Gain: Kelly, Schache, Rockliff, Kennedy

Lose: pick 3, Gibbs, pick 38

And I thought the North supporters were the most delusional supporter base on BF...

Considering how many clubs will offer this bloke a monster deal I would be willing to have nearly everything I own on him leaving. So sweet FA on it.. but yer he is gone

Haven't followed Kietels career but he was rated in his draft year
Former swingman looks to have played forward in the WAFL this year with up-and-down form.

Sean Gregory named full-back in the VFL Team of the Year looks better.

Said to have “taken his game to another level” in his third season at Coburg after spending one year on Essendon’s list according to Sebastian Spagnuolo, Coburg Lions general manager.

"Taking on the opposition’s best forward every week, Gregory’s competitiveness stands out.

“He has had a good run of it this year and has performed against AFL-listed forwards week in, week out.

“He is definitely in a better position now and would grab the chance if it came to him again.”

What would you guys reasonably expect for Shane Savage?
Geez i reckon we'd just about give him away. Would be a class act at Collingwood and would suit Buckley's game plan of moving the ball up the wings perfectly... not going to happen though. Bloody hell, he was a North supporter as a kid. You just can't fight that.

I know SFA about Jackson Trengove, except a vague idea that he was perhaps fairly highly rated a few years back, but now not so much -- and that is it. Couldn't tell you how he plays or what he looks like.

What are people's opinions?

Sonny clearly not a fan, I'd hope he's not a dinosaur...
He's the guy that once gave away two goals to Riewoldt before the first bounce.

He certainly is.

I've never been more comfortable in something being wrong. Mostly letting you guys know your club is being involved in some serious shit talking.

Isnt every club?

Really Charlie is a very good forward but hardly what we would be concentrating on.
Only player getting 6 years from us is Josh Kelly

"Mature" tall defenders in state leagues for a later pick:
Sean Gregory
Brody Mihocek
Tyler Keitel

Any takers?
keitel plays forward now. seen alot of him. no from me

the KPD stocks in this draft are actually very good, thats where i think you will see the bargain picks come from

for example naughton is better than logue IMO
