How else are they getting Kennedy though? They supposedly don't want to use their 2018 2nd and pick 40 isn't enough for him. What other options do they have but downgrading 3?I think Carlton days no. The top 3 are pretty desirable.

We already have Gibbs. Seems to me you're the ones that want something. And if you want something, dont ask for everything.
A lesson SOS has to learn.
Are we going to discuss Carlton missing out on the players they wanted?
Is SOS going to get credit for playing hardball on those too?

19 for Weller? No thanks.Pick 19 (bullshit Motlop compo pick) to Gold Coast for Ablett, to Freo for Weller, to GWS for Wilson?
From Freo's point of view it's a straight swap for Wilson.19 for Weller? No thanks.
Weller is 3 years younger and putting up similar numbers every week. Wilson will be 25 next year, he's not young. From Freo's point of view it's a straight swap for Wilson.
Both quality young halfbacks who are under contract and want to go home.
We dont want picks we wont use..HOw would people feel about this 3-way trade?
Melbourne receive - Pick 21 (From GCS)
Port receive - Jack Watts (from MELB)
Gold Coast receive - Aaron Young (from Port), Pick 31 (From Port), Pick 65 (From MELB)
Fair enough. If the Suns sent you 39 as well would that even it up?Weller is 3 years younger and putting up similar numbers every week. Wilson will be 25 next year, he's not young.

No.Pick 19 (bullshit Motlop compo pick) to Gold Coast for Ablett, to Freo for Weller, to GWS for Wilson?
No.
The Cats' No.19 selection is unlikely to be used on Melbourne forward Jack Watts.
Geelong had a list management meeting on Monday morning but Wells did not expect the club's position to change.
"We had good interest in Jack Watts but we just didn't think we could do a deal with Melbourne. Clearly we've got more to deal with now but … I think right now, we'd be holding on to pick No.19 rather than trading it to Melbourne for Jack Watts," Wells said.
The Cats also have No.22, acquired last year in the trade with Carlton for Zach Tuohy. Not that it is going anywhere.
"I think we'd be holding on to that one too," Wells said.
Na I'd be looking to move from 5 to 2 as part of the deal.Fair enough. If the Suns sent you 39 as well would that even it up?
Do you realise how bitter you sound.Keep him. He's absolutely no good to you. Poor bloke will prob retire.
What's he played like 2 finals in his whole career?
What a shame getting drafted to the biggest basket-case of the century. Wasted talent.
No.

This is what amuses me, all throughout this week or so opposition fans have mooted trades for picks and suggested what was originally pick 20 and now also pick 19 could/should go there. They made it clear very early on they want an established player, we gave them a list of players to choose from and yet they focused on pie-in-the-sky ambit claims of Cockatoo and Duncan which just wastes time.So how does the Ablett deal get done?
Maybe because your inept trading last year potentially cost you a flag? Why would I be bitter?
We may need a 3rd club, I liked the idea of Port, we give them a pick and they send Young to GC but we'll see, both clubs have put off talks until Thursday out of respect to the Ablett family.

How can you possibly post the above and claim you're not bitter and/or upset about the situation?
You're putting in a better sook than your club did last trade period, and I thought that would take some doing.
It's been explained to you countless times that the statement "he's absolutely no good to you" couldn't be further from the truth. You know saying it ad nauseum doesn't make it true, right?
I just highly doubt we'll expend a pick 19 or 22 for a 33yo. GWS can afford to be cavalier with their picks but we can't, 14 years of by and large being one of the last dogs at the bowl on draft night and have traded away our last 3 first round picks, but did so for guys that were 25-26 at the time. That was my thinking in linking it to them getting Weller.
Im using logic, not emotion.
He is no good to you if you consider that winning a premiership is the only goal.
He isnt going to be there for the next one, I think that has been well established?
