How many games did they win this year against the teams they double up on? 1?
They will win enough games with home ground advantage to stay ahead of Carlton.Freo got Hogan and Lobb. i dont think they going to go worse

They had a ton of injuries.Their list is horrendous. One pre season into guys who've played less than 50 games isn't going to make them good.
Wright gone. Murphy, Simpson and Thomas basically done or close to it. They played guys like Polson, Lamb, Mullet and Silvagni for bulk games. Lang and O'Shea played 10+.
And we're talking about a club that will need to win more games next season than they've done in the last 5 to make this a bad deal
He might but if rankine or luko say fine you can hold me but i am gone at the end of the following year what are they going to do thenTrue, but GC might play hard ball as he is a 1st year contracted player, Dew will want to set an big example for other draftee.
We hope top 5 pickPlus we paid less than that for a top 5 next year
Our strategy is that we are very very confident in our list and are backing them in.
They had a ton of injuries.
They have a better team than GC, Saints, Freo and WBs, Brisbane and North could all have an average year.
As I said, I think in all honesty we fininsh around the same as next year (pick 7-8) and Carlton finish 4-5 (pick 4-5). So we give up a late first rounder to move 3-4 places. Would Stocker or RCD with the player we get at our first be better than the one player we would get 3-4 picks earlier than our first? Obviously Carlton think so.
Dont worry, I will front and centre in the 2019 edition of death riding Carlton thread, but we (and Carlton) have taken a punt.
Set an example and keep him, like what Geelong did with their 1st year player in Kelly. If he's been at the club for 4-5 years, sure, try to make a deal although he is contracted and get him to a club he prefers but not a 1st year contracted player, GC will want the maximum pick for him from either SA clubs, despite his preference club.He might but if rankine or luko say fine you can hold me but i am gone at the end of the following year what are they going to do then
Next years draft isnt anywhere near this. SA squad nowhere near as good, Vic Metro not that good either.
Best SA talent is Taheny and Gould. We have McEntee but he is small, Pickett I love but he is maybe late first or early second.
Matt Rowell likely no.1 pick next year at this early stage.
We shall see. I hope you are right. They do not have a better list than anyone bar Gold Coast.
The Bulldogs midfield is miles ahead of Carlton. Fremantle have Fyfe, Hogan, Lobb, Walters and two Hills. St Kilda maybe worse than Carlton but that's still Carlton giving us pick 3.
Delayed gratification is all well and good, but is anyone else wishing we had another shiny new Crow for 2019?

West AdelaideYes they can ....but do they want to weaken next years draft as well ??Can't they dip into next year's points? If so that will weaken their hand next year.
GWS have an Academy kid who is a jet and possible top 3 in Tom Green.Matt Rowell likely no.1 pick next year at this early stage.

Feeling a bit underwhelmed to be honest. I don’t know enough about either of our picks to be excited I guess. I wonder where they go if we didn’t pick them? Would anyone have picked either in the first round? I doubt anyone else takes McHenry. Jones probably does.
Reckon Port nailed it.
