They still have another gear to go

loolomg like b2b might be a breez

They definitely look good but when your key players are fit & available & your back six are the same week after week they defend precisely as a unit & become hard to score against.
But agree that at this point they are going back to back.

Yeah i didnt mind them getting a flag, but their fans got annoying quick

I have a Tiger mate who is terrific & always goes win lose or draw & he has always been non trusting of his team but he said that a whole lot of aggressive idiots have suddenly appeared all around him. This happens.

Very early days. Richmond weren’t even considered a serious premiership challenger this time last season.
That’s the thing

They have carried on awesome from last season ( September )

They are playing as a group that wants more

They can finish teams in 1 quarter

No one looks remotely close imo at the G against them

B2B imo

And if they lose Martin for the season next week? Not so much.

No one saw us winning in 2005. Nor Lions in 2001. Probably not us in 2012 etc etc. lots of water to go under the bridge.

If you’re so confident you should put a punt on it ;)

Who is seriously going to challenge them besides the Hawks, Cats from a Melbourne club?

They have always been on the cusp of finals bar 2016

No interstate side will challenge them at the G?

Exactly... they missed the finals entirely in 2016, nobody saw them as a genuine threat in 2017, yet they won the flag.

Bulldogs weren’t expected in 2016 but fortune fell their way and they were playing good footy at the right time of year.

Tigers look most likely at this stage, I agree, but it’s very early on.

So which will change will be the dark horse this year?

That’s what I’m asking

I have no idea. This time last year I said that the Tigers didn’t have enough class. I was wrong.

It’s round 5, I will trouble myself with predictions once we get later into the season. I am not a betting man so no value on me having a punt right now.

Too much can change. As I said Tigers lose Dusty and their campaign hits a serious speed bump that I doubt they could win from.

It's a tough one. They beat Carlton, lost to Adelaide, then beat Hawthorn, Brisbane and Melbourne. The teams they beat were 16th, 12th, 18th and 9th last year. Lost to GF replay.

Now they have Collingwood (13th), with both teams off the short break. Then its Freo (14th) at MCG, North (15th) at ES, West Coast in Perth (8th), and St Kilda (11th).

So they could possibly be 10-1 or 9-2 after 11 rounds. That means they will have played 8 of the bottom 10 from last year plus West Coast and Adelaide. Probably should back them now for the flag as the price will only shorten. Then they must have a tougher draw coming home.

Certainly look to be supremely confident and playing a manic and fearless game.

Interesting times for tiger fans.

What a gift of a draw for the reigning premiers....

What a gift of a draw for the reigning premiers....

It does seem that way. I was very surprised when I went through it before. They have have Geelong and Essendon twice, Sydney at Etihad (why, I don't know) Adelaide again, Giants at Spotless, Port at Adelaide to come. They have 14 games at the MCG but for some reason we play them at Etihad.

Edit. I made a mistake with the original post. Then GC game is in fact WC in Perth which makes it a bit harder.

I thought Port looked good when they beat us... but since then they struggled to beat Brisbane and lost to the Bombers and Cats.

I should stay out of the business of making predictions, I think.

The only chance a non-vic side has over Richmond @ MCG is to play with an extremely slow tempo. They love the speed on the game.

Our precise kicking skills and ability to control possession will trip them up, no question.

Though I remember we did have that game against Hawthorn in like 2016 where we did successfully control the tempo for a half (the one where buddy kicked that running goal from the centre square)

But wait a minute Skip & Mase!
The loss to Adelaide was a tough one because they had to leave Richmond & go to Tullamarine to get on a plane to play that game.
It was against the odds?

Higgins looks awesome and they still haven’t debuted there FS from lastvtrade who was rated very good

Add Roli , Caddy to that team as well
Higgins has a team humming around him. When/if the fit hits the shan, we'll see how he defends up the ground. Thus far his team has been able to keep the ball in their forward half more than the opposition so he's been able to predominantly be more attacking but I trust he is built for this game & is in the right team & at the right time for this point of his career.

It's tough but when we won our p'ships it took some extraordinary events.
Nick Davis first of all on the way to the 2005 one.
Bad ankle for Ted & knee for Goodes but great goal & misses from Bud & 2 gems from Mal.

Be you've gotta make finals to get the opportunity to make you luck on the big day.

Its harder from interstate is ours and the other interstate sides issues

But look at 2005 and 2012 such stable sides, minimal changes and injuries

Teams there should have an allowance for cost of living maybe

I think it's been a factor in the number of players that have left us for "more opportunities" in recent years. Their salary goes further in other states than it does in Sydney.
