What our list misses most is a medium power forward.
They are so influential on the game, and we don't have anyone who fits the bill (slight chance Cuningham could be developed into this role I suppose).
Im not for getting Shiel with a top pick. But adding Gaff and Shiel would be pretty special. If we can mate …. we can only offer ….![]()

Yip … on the xmas wish list ….. and im not talking about Richmond small forward leftovers …. but a R Gray type. ….. almost Riewolt like …
Agree!
A young Robbie Gray would be nice.
Creative. Knows where the goals are. Brings his team mates into it. Gun
Obviously Robbie Gray, but Caddy/DeGoey/WHE/Petracca/Ziebell/Danger when forward etc. etc. (varying abilities, but that type).
And it's not Lukosius. I'm not saying he wouldn't be a great get for us, but we would still need a mid-sized power forward.
Jack Martin would be a good get. But id hope for more a power medium forwardGray is obviously an absolute gun. But even a lesser player in a similar mode is a massive need for us.
M Kennedy good overhead good kick for goalI feel Dow may turn out to be a bit of a power medium forward. Thats in an ideal world when we dont require him as much in the midfield

Curtis Taylor
CorrectUnlikely to be in our range unless we trade down though, right?
I am fixated on a idea of where I want the club to go … and I have my own pre conceived ideas on what we should be doing to get there ….
Just so we are clear …
- Bolts stays
- SOS stays
- Dunno much about the board (no comment here)
- Andy Mac … I really don't know exactly what his job was to comment if he was achieving any KPI's. Seems a good time to move along … considering I see him as part of the old regime that bought us **** all. The 1-2 week thing is just a bloody funny joke (I often wonder if that was his version of twisted humour at times)
- Only way you can clean house is bringing in the BEST possible talent every year. Draft best talent available at that pick regardless of position.
- FA should be used to draft for specific needs, and fills specific shortfalls the draft cannot plug.
- We need to bolster the midfield ASAP. You can never have enough midfielders. You always turn a good midfielder into a HB or HF. Harder IMHO to turn a set HBF into a clearance mid. This way your arc players D50 to centre to F50 become so much more flexible from a coaching point of view. (More strings to the bow etc ..)
- Talls take longer so you will never see me bag them often if at all.
- I refrain from character slaughtering 1-3 year players. Ridiculous expecting them to play like 24 yo's .
- I don't have much time for recycled players (delisted) as I believe they were delisted for a reason … mostly being not up to AFL.
If these things align with any other posters … then I guess I'm a cohort lol!
As I said carry on![]()
Interesting question.
Does anybody see Phillips as being a long term 1st choice ruck after kruezer finishes up?
Played well on ryder today imo.
Felt that Shiel would have made a difference if he was playing for us today.
And a forward line with good talls and smalls that he can deliver it to. Getting there. Still some way to goWe've arguably already got a Cripps helper in Kennedy.
Our greater need is a hard running, fast, strong line-breaking mid.
Phillips delivered his best game for us in 2 years.
He is about to hit his straps.
