They are drafted as AFL footy players, this is our only interest in these guys. Unfortunately 1 of these two has been doing this and the other has not.
Time for Gooch to get his shit together and push hard for a game as we have plenty of injuries at the moment. A first rounder that’s fit and not playing 1sts in his 2nd year does not bode well for his future.

Tom Doedee??????

The ideal solution for me would be to send the Victorian clubs back out to ovals in the suburbs, obviously after upgrading them appropriately.

That would hopefully help strengthen some of their team by getting them back to their roots, so to speak.

Plus would limit their MCG exposure, and team would truly start to have a “home ground” advantage.

The only thing that drives the AFL is money, so the only thing we can do is vote with our wallet.

But we don't. Because we love our club and it's in our blood. The AFL has us by the balls* and they know it. I've personally boycotted Foxtel for numerous reasons, which in turn hurts the AFL, and I am overall watching less footy each round, but still pay to watch my team.

Avoiding AFL is like trying to live "off the grid". These days you basically can't. And I know deep down I don't want to. It just sh*ts me because the league is blatantly unfair and essentially corrupt.

*also includes proverbial female metaphor.

Time to lobby our members of parliament to remove the AFLs non for profit status?

AFL Commission chairman Richard Goyder has accepted non-Victorian clubs’ concerns on the advantage handed to their Melbourne AFL rivals in the grand final - as noted in Richmond’s triumph against Adelaide in September.

Richmond’s 48-point win against the top-ranked Crows marked the fifth consecutive AFL grand final won by a Melbourne-based club against a non-Victorian team. For the fourth successive season, the lower-ranked Victorian team has gained the “home-field advantage” at the MCG.
Goyder has offered each of the eight non-Victorian clubs in the 18-team national competition:

A MINIMUM of two home-and-away games on the MCG every season.

Both Adelaide and Port Adelaide this season have two matches at the G. But fellow non-Victorian clubs Brisbane and Gold Coast have just one this year.

ACCESS to the MCG for one training session before a home-and-away game. This would most likely be the light, 40-minute “captain’s run” on the day before the match.

Non-Victorian clubs are repeatedly locked out of the MCG for training sessions, particularly on Fridays when there is an AFL game on the ground that evening.

ACCESS to the MCG for two training sessions in grand final week.

CHARTER flights - rather than commercial flights - after preliminary finals to get teams to their home bases to prepare for the grand final as soon as possible.

CHARTER flights to Melbourne - at the club’s preferred departure time - in grand final week.
Two games, generous. It should be about 5.

Agree that it’s strange the need to extend the MCG deal now when there is so much time to run.

Is this some kind of political scam. Did I read that the VIC government will pile in hundreds of millions of their tax payers money into footy facilities. I love footy but it must be a hard sell to the vic voters that this is good use of public money. So to get people on side they are locking in another 20 years with a fake threat of losing the grand final one day. Losing tradition etc.

Whether they locked this deal in now or in 20 years time the grand final is never leaving the MCG.

This big stadium thing probably has the other states screwed.
I thought the stadium they held the 2000 Olympic Games at held 100k? Or very close.

The agreement over the extension of the mcg grand final rights is the worst decision by the afl ever. It blatantly flies in the face of every non victorian club and shows how heavily weighted the competition is towards the victorian clubs.
So much for having a best of 3 grand final series which imo would have been a great spectacle held over 3 weeks in alternate cities and different time slots in prime time. This wouldve then allowed the season to be shortened to 18 home and away games with a longer finals series.

What's your point ?
The post is correct

Your crowds are down.
Your racist incidents are up as are your alcohol fueled escapades and you can now throw in a sexual misconduct scandal !
Your leadership group is obviously a massive fail - all 7594 of them !
And your indigenous programme seems to be equally as inadequate.
You're not getting new sponsors and you lost 3 of your highest profile ones
You've spend 5 years on this China thing and you've got nothing out of it

And to top it off , you made a profit that barely buys a Camry

We can go with whatever topic we like - AFC outdoes you on the lot
And I haven't even mentioned on field results

I don't think I've ever seen an Asian drinking flavoured milk - would Iced Coffee even take off in China? I don't think so.

Oak Plus is the Pedro's Pizza or RC Cola of the iced coffee market. It's for cheapskate bogans and scrubgoats.

As if China are going to suddenly go crazy for a second rate iced coffee.... I seriously wonder about the mentality of people that actually believe comments like those that that OneGreatidiot makes...

I can for the life of me work out why we didn’t make the AO mcg size when it was redone, was the g physically too big to replicate there?

I remember being astounded at the time that for $600 mill or whatever it WASN'T the same size

Sydney, GWS, Adelaide and even Port are a chance to fill out the top 4, so that could happen. I’d like to see West Coast replace Port and then that would be ideal. But West Coast aren’t that good.
I am not convinced Port are a genuine top four side.

If they beat Essendon with their ability to spread from stoppage and three key forwards I may change my mind

We can't even get club supporters united against the GF at the MCG let alone the non-vic clubs.

There were plenty of posters here that bought into the "tradition" or largest ground argument. Okay, just don't complain about not winning many flags...

And the grounds would look full and seem to have a demand to be watching the team instead of the spot the supporter or chair game that happens now when some of the VIC teams are playing at their "home ground".

as much as i hate the crows i hope you really do a number on the pies tonight just too see the stupid look on eddie's face

in all seriousness the interstate clubs should write an open letter to the AFL demanding the Victorian-centic aspects of any agreement be abolished untill all clubs can agree

Given SPPs alleged victim only went to the club and was then subsequently contacted by C7 for tbe interview, how did C7 find out to initiate contact?

Which Port Adelaide staffer threw SPP under the bus?

The VFL aslo announced that the Brownlow will be held in Melbourne for another 10 years.
These announcements are just Victoria telling everyone who runs the show.
And spinless interstate clubs will just roll over like always.
End of the day we joined their league.

This has been confirmed.

Us non Vic clubs (lets refuse to use the term "interstaters") now need to win as many flags as possible and occupy most of the top eight for the next 40 years.

Let them have their GF there and watch all 8 non Victorian sides win flags.

It's been a great NBA season............
How many fans now have 76ers as their 2nd team and how many have forgotten who their 1st team is. I admit I am on the 'Bendwagon' :tm:

Last time I visited there, they had began to bash the Channel 7 reporter and imply that her parents were imbeciles because of her first name.

"SPP is innocent because Elspeth is a dumb name and she's most probably stupid because her parents are for calling her that"

As always the filth amongst their supporters (most of them) emerge whenever there is a crisis at Alberton.

I lived with an Elspeth once

I really like the name
