What are people's thoughts on Zac Smith at R2?
Given Geelong's mids, should help him out a bit.

If you expect Stanley's calf to keep him out for 23 weeks, yes.
Otherwise, no. He'll got back to being sub par when Scott tries to jam a second ruck into the team.

Don’t you even think about it

Because they ran Ivvy into the ground and killed his career.
Nank will be our ruckman for the next 10 years, need to protect him.
They'll play Soldo or maybe even one of the draftees in tandem with him to give him a bit of a chop out during the year when he starts to tire.

Hampson won't be anywhere near it lol.
I think you're forgetting about SP Ruck SP Grigg.:moustache:

did it towards the end of the last year?

At the swans he was a bit player.
Full season as tiges R1, game plan worked and he'll be even match fitter.
I just dont see the need tbh.
Guess time will tell

I don't get where this "match fit" stuff comes from, I don't know where I can find the exact stats (only ever pops up on that Telstra tracker infograph thing during the games), but Nank was regularly in out top handful of players for KMs travelled during the game.
The bloke works his ring off, already averaged 83% TOG, can't expect him to do too much more.

For comparison;
Sandi 73%
Jacobs 84%
Ryder 86%
Gawn 79%
Grundy 85%
Stef 88%
Kruze 84%

Thoughts on sinclair as R2? How long is naismith out for?
Naismith out for year

Sinclair is a better forward than ruck

For the most part in his two years at the club he has been an R2 while either Tippett or Naismith has played the R1 role.

He has played 3 games without Tippett & Naismith for an average

2016
R13 v Melbourne : 58
Summary: Heavy rain, 14 hitouts, shared ruck duties with Nankervis(9ho) v Gawn (58 BLOODY HITOUTS BOY OH BOY WOWEE), 4 tackles, 11 touches, 45% DE

2017
R4 v West Coast: 65
Summary: 13 touches, 24 Hitouts, 6 clangers, main ruck v Giles/Vardy, 4 tackles, 46% DE

R6 v Carlton: 142
Summary: 19 touches, 15 hitouts, 1 goal, 6 tackles, main ruck v Kreuzer, 78%DE

Has a career average of 11.5 touches game, 16 hitouts, 2 clangers.

Small sample size but the Carton game is interesting as he had a lot more of the ball than usual as well as a high DE. I would not pick him for SC given that he always misses 6-7 games a year and he is not clean enough with the ball to average 78% DE every week.

However, I think as the Swans R1 he will have a career best average this year, it will be mid to high 80s at best though.

Like Brad Miller before him, that won't bother him as he has comfort in other areas of his life.

Being a solo ruck and having 100-120kg guys crashing into you all season takes it's toll. Started great but fell away as the season went on but he'll be more conditioned this year, he's only 23.

I'm going with Nank.

At worst he is an easy stepping stone to Ryder after he has had his bye. :thumbsu:

Look... Smith should be comfortably first choice but remains to be seen if he goes to that consistent level the top rucks are at. Does that and a 100+ average beckons.
When he's on we win. Simple as that. That said load up on Gawn round 1 as your C. He will kill us in R1.

As for Stanley build him a raft and let him float out to sea. Then again if he aimed for the sea he'd miss it.
God I don't think I've hated a player at my club as much as him. Thanks for your last act at the club Balmey :drunk:
