Im still none the wiser on my R2, could still be one of Lycett, Martin, Ryder, Nank, Sandi Grundy, Cox (god forbid). Once again im in predicament town, population me.

I've narrowed it down to Sandi or Nank with the intention of upgrading them to Ryder after he has had his bye.

Had Nank locked in but am now thinking Sandi might be the better option as he has a lot of home games in the first 10 rounds.

Yeah Sandi definitley has the highest ceiling but also the highest chance of injury, and then you factor in the Sean Darcy factor. When is he due back does someone know? Nank should be more consistent but doesnt have the ceiling Sandi does but Nank has the durability and the bigger upside being his 2nd year and being first ruck and the fact he has no obvious 2nd ruck to take points off him.

I think ive confused myself even more by writing this, If only Archie Smith wasnt a thing then id be all over big Stefan.

1. His average of 88 last year was influenced by 1 match of 12 (injury) .....B4 that he was flying with 6 x 100+ in 9 games

2. IMO watching him play JLT, he was moving as well as he has for several years, very mobile, very sharp in his movements

3. IIRC Freo have 6 of their first 9 games at home .....draw friendly

Who cares about who you're starting, the BIG question here is who's going to be everyone's R3?

I'm starting to think it's better forking out a bit more dosh for English. Surely he's going to play more games this year than SP Cameron.

Normally i always roll a FWD/RUCK for coverage but this year is shit and i'm not wasting my time with Cox.

He's up and running, played in the practice match against Wet Toast 2 weeks ago.

But with any of the R3 options, realistically, will they actually be playing during the coinciding bye, or an injury? ......it seems to be a small % chance of that ?

It's interesting, i put up the same argument as you for starting Robbie Gray in Round 1, even though he's suspended ......most said that even having a playing rookie wouldn't justify his selection .....but the same posters are talking about the same situation with R3 coverage ?

I'm perplexed over the consistency of that argument ? ......what about those who decide to keep Danger in their side, even with the prospect of him not playing ???

Who's the better forward ? .....would have thought Sandi would present a bigger danger, than Darcy ? ......but you've seen more than me

At his age (not even 20 yo) & with Sandi likely in his last year ......It's not the worse situation to play a 19yo Ruckman in the WAFL another year

Read a report just two days ago quoting a Freo coach that said pretty sure running one ruck only this year. Only problem was ruck not named.
