Was a big fan of Ross’ work last year. That game against Richmond he cut them up with two way running. Shut down Martin and racked them up at will.

Now - he couldn’t be more liable. Richo has destroyed his confidence and exposed his weaknesses playing him off half back. If he has currency which you think a reigning B&F winner should - I wouldn’t have an issue trading him. Doesn’t scream our leadership on or off the field either.
With the utmost of respect, he should be good enough to work on his weaknesses. That's what champions do.

We do apparently...

All the defending of players who should be delivering by now.

Let's face it we have some dumb footballers.

I don'ty mentioned those three because they should have some value. The other suspects are just rubbish.

Check the BOM satellite... Cyclone Lethlean is gathering momentum...
We have a rubbish list full of B-Graders. Anyone that thinks otherwise is either dillusional or one of the campaigners that won’t have a bad word said against their ‘boys’.

I’m coming over for the Sunday morning bbq Breaky btw.

This perfectly sums up why he isn’t and won’t be a champion.. his game has dropped off as quick as we’ve tumbled down the ladder.

Looking at all the players out of contract at the end of this season, I'd be interested in a few of these names.

Paul Seedsman, Jarryd Lyons (anyone confirm if he's actually not contracted?), Anthony Miles, Jayden Short, Jake Lloyd, Nic Newman, Andrew Gaff, Scott Lycett.

Pretty slim pickings, you'd think Gaff will re-sign, Lyons I doubt is uncontracted but that's just going off Footywire. Lloyd could be GCS bound so that leaves us with Seedsman, Miles, Short, Newman and Lycett on the shortlist.

You'd try go for Lycett as a FA but again, unlikely that he leaves in my opinion. If we could get say one of Miles/Short and even someone like Newman, they could be pretty handy inclusions but there's not much on offer.
Lyons is a local boy, but is contracted.

Get him back to that role and we’ll get him back to that form

Just means some favourites can’t play 1s

But people want acres and gresh in the middle more. I’ve said it for ages. The reason those guys don’t play in the middle more is the likes of Ross dunstan and Steele cannot play elsewhere.

It’s exactly how it works on here. Also armo should have played but where. It sounds like we need to enquirer to afl about having 7 in the middle. Even some would have a go at richo if we got permission to do that

In that case - we’re simply too many of the same player. The biggest problem is not one of those players has stepped up. If Blake or Ross or Dunstan were A grade and starring we wouldn’t be talking about them playing other positions or traded. Comes back to our main problem of having a side of B and C graders.

After listening to Simon Lethleans podcast I wouldnt be surprised if we try to split our first round pick. Will make interesting times if we finish above WB with pick 6.

You really have to wonder what the recruiting team were doing trading out of the 2nd & 3rd rounds this year. Particularly given what we will have to give up to get back into those rounds.

How is it for the past 6 or 7 years we havent been able to pick up any balanced midfielders. Trout always seemed to be taking gops. Dunstan, Acres & Sinclair are ok but none are going to get to the levels required to take us forward.

Gresham & Clark might get there but we have not selected one ready made mid? Makes me feel sick when you watch Crouch & Merrett etc running around - what were they thinking?

What's wrong with our current couches? Are they not modern enough or just too uncomfortable? :D
there's a sale on at Nick Scali's. Some comfortable looking bargains. Half price!

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I remember the 2013 draft. No one was really too keen on Merrett or Cripps any more than the next draftees. I dont think they were picked way before their rating infact Zac drifted.
Some clubs get lucky cause thats whose next.

Dont think we traded out secondcand third, both used on players who have played seniors this year.

I think we have been hamstrung first by the compromised draft then by picking Paddy over Petracca which has hurt.

Billings over Bont, in hindsight.

But I think we will get some good mids in Steele, Gres, Acres eventually, Clarke, and we just have to pick up a quality mid this draft.

If not. Well, I don't know what I'll say.

He's not a defenders bootlace but nor should he be. Daft playing him there yet sadly just one of several played out of position under Cho.

So how do we get acres and gresh in the middle more if they are all played in their preferred position. This is what bad drafting does. Hamstrings you.

Merrett tanked his interviews to get to Essendon.

Yep. I agree mate.

TBH I would prefer the girl on the couch
Was thinking the same, BBPFs. There are some crackers in those ads, aren't there? Defeats the purpose of the ads. I remember the girls, not the couches. Are we being non PC with those comments objectifying women?

I'm always amused to hear someone "tanked" their interview to put clubs off. Interviews and psychological tests at the combine are designed specifically to reveal things the candidate wants to conceal. Do you honestly think an eighteen year old schoolboy can fool a raft of experienced adults who have heard it all over decades?

Honestly, if a draft combine candidate can "fool" you, you don't belong there. I've never seen, nor experienced, someone pull the wool over recruiters when it comes to the character and personality testing disciplines. Don't forget, these kids have been watched for years. Their characters are dissected, along with those of their families and teachers or employers. By the time they get to the interview, they have been independently tested as well.

The interview is merely a fait accompli. It is a chance to clarify discrepancies and to delve into areas that have not been covered off as thoroughly as others.

Yes I do. He did or he was hidden by the Bombers. Wingard tanked. Darling tanked. Cyril didn’t interview clubs apart from Hawthorn and wouldn’t release medical records.

If interviews were not important, surely those players would have gone higher?
