Lol. It's cute that people are acting like GWS have a salary cap. Their salary cap is similiar to chelsea's. The AFL is as corrupt as FIFA and the salary cap system has the same legitimacy as 'financial fair play'. The only shocking thing is that they didn't sign lebron for their ambassador program.

Kelly, Patton and a 2018 2nd rounder for this year’s and next year’s firsts?
I worry about the fairness of that trade. Better thrown in goldstein just in case.

Academy and father/son selections have never been bid on early under the new model. Even if TT is around your pick it’s likely no club bids on him before 15 anyway.

Every other selection has gone 4-5 picks later in the top 10 and the second rounders have drifted to late draft. It would take a club to absolutely be in love with TT to take him before your pick or club that are just playing games which is incredibly short sighted thing to try.

Clubs bidding on TT is not the problem. GC will have a few 1st round picks and most likely two in the top 10. They will bid on Scott with an early pick as he is a GC boy in hope North doesn’t match it.

I rate Scott higher than TT but can’t see us matching an early bid on Scott.

I cant see why he would leave... 1 year deal at pies or 1 year deal elsewhere

I'd stay at the Pies too. Just saying he missed 2016, played most of 2018, missed 2018 and if the pattern continues he plays in 2019 and misses 2020 if he plays

If GC17 bids pick #2 or #3 on Scott, they should have their license canceled immediately.

To have Wood, Garner, Waite (if he plays on), Higgins, Ahern, Jacobs, Wright, Robbie, EVW all at the mercy of injury luck is too much of the list stacked on maybe's.

It's loading up too much risk. Fine to have five or six blokes at most, but to have nine who are key 22 players when fit, is too many.

Sign the durable or **** off.

Everyone is at risk of injury. Everyone.

Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater fcs.

Absolutely, but we are talking injury history and those who need to be managed their entire career. I just think it's entire logical to push for durability where the probability is on your side.

Yeah I get what you mean. Sorry for the snarkiness.

I think Ahern was worth the wait though. Same with Tarrant. We've tossed quite a few players who couldn't get over injuries (Curran was such a waste).

Edited for some dodgier English even for my standards.

With what is left

1. Grab a free agent (Gaff, Dahlhaus, Wallis, Thomas or Menzel) or Lynch obviously

2. Trade first rounder for Gresham, Lloyd (would need something back), D Beams or someone of that ilk

3. Bargain gets. Seedsman, Hall, Kolodjashnij, J Elliott, O'Rourke, Laverde, Sheridan, JKH, Bolton Jayden Short (would cost more than the others)

Essentially bringing in 3 players costing us a total of a first rounder and maybe a 3rd rounder/fringe player

1 of Goldy/preuss traded for a good pick also
Short signed 2 years now with tigers

All good on the snark and dodgy English, glass houses and stones etc.

I think it depends on what sort of risk we are betting on. I don't want to risk a first or second rounder. A pick 69 :sternlook: or a delisted free agent, yeah no worries.

Would be the right move by GC to bid on Scott.

Let’s say they pick a Rankine, Lukoshish or Walsh. They will be looking to get out after 2 years and the cycle continues of losing players.

I’ll bet my left nut they make an early bid for Scott.

I'm really not sure GC will bid on a bloke prematurely unless it was to keep the team he chooses honest (and even then, why risk) especially as Scott, in this scenario, would have already turned them down. It's doesn't really present the makings of a fruitful relationship flat out trying to grab a bloke that's said no.
