Some people really need to wake up from their dreams

#1 for #2+#17 lol

We traded 2, 31,51 and 60 for picks 3 and 16. As we weren’t going to use the later picks.

Got McCluggage and Berry out of that deal. Not exactly the same as suggested above I know.

Those sorts of deals can happen with the right circumstances. Live trading could be massive in this regard.

The part that i find really crazy is that Gold Coast need mids and not Lukosius with Crossley,Wright & Scott also coming to the club at around #12-#14
Gold Coast will get scott for the Eagles 1st rounder so why give up Walsh to Carlton

Makes no sense and a crazy deal

Assuming Cerra wants to leave Fremantle and Carlton are granted a Priority Pick:

Pick #6 + Cerra + Darcy Tucker for/ Picks #1 and #19?

I would probably do that. Maybe a third or fourth rounder coming back to us aswell.

Wouldn't do it unless we rated pick 1 (whoever that is) obscenely high. Like we'd have to be sure that JL was in fact Nick Riewoldt v2.

Based on history, pick 1 will be most likely a very good player but not the absolute elite which is what you'd want with what we are giving up here.

Is there still nothing other than Cerra not resigning yet? From experience I know it's not a great sign but he could still resign, just waiting to optimise his worth.

I think it’s a good deal for Fremantle for the following reasons:

a) Jack Lukosius has been talked up as being the next Riewoldt and some draft punters state he he’s the best junior they have ever seen come through the ranks.

b) Jack Lukosius plays in a position that Fremantle need bolstering.

c) Fremantle have an excellent retention rate when it comes to South Australians.

I think also Pick #19 strategically still places Fremantle ahead of West Coasts' first selection to be able to swoop on any highly rated WA youngsters that may slide to the end of the first round.

Carlton also win out of the deal by obtaining a highly rated young midfielder to add to our growing on-ball brigade (Cerra), speed off the half back flank (Tucker) and a presence to still select a highly rated youngster at #6.

Yeah that and GG's "source".

So no, just speculation at this stage. Probably warranted given his stance to be fair.

a) Yeak I know KM foams over him like he is Wayne Carey + Gary Ablett combined but I don't take that opinion particularly seriously. 5 recruiters got interviewed by Twomey earlier in the year and only 2 (I think) had JL as the best tall and a couple of them said they didn't rate any of the talls this year that highly (main knock was physicality on all of them).

b) Yes agree

c) I doubt the retention has anything to do with state of birth. I think it is 100% the personalities and characters of the individuals.

I am happy to do it if Lloyd really think JL is Riewoldt v2 but that is the only scenario I am happy with.

I would find it amazing if SOS passed up the chance to have Curnow and the next Riewoldt for the next 10 years.

Lukosious could haunt SOS for a long long time.

Could very well be the case.

If they were sold on Lukosious being head and shoulders above the other top contenders for Pick #1 (Walsh, Rankine) then I think we pull the trigger.

However, if there is still debate as to taking Lukosious vs Walsh - why not maximise our return and get two highly rated midfielders (Cerra & Pick #6) for the price of Walsh.

I'd be happy either way though.

Sometime you need to know that other team also in rebuilding phase , getting No 1 pick to sacrifice pick 5 last year and pick 6 this year look a bit off .

Would you give up Cripps (pick 13) + Curnow (Pick 12) for pick 2 and pIck 3 this year .

My hypothetical was on the proviso that Cerra was leaving regardless.

If he was planning on staying his manager would have started a rumour about North making him a big offer.
Not looking good.

Yeah if I’m Gold Coast I’m going Walsh and Smith at 2/3 assuming Carlton go lukosius.
Carlton are probably going to trade the pick so that the side is ok next year and SOS + Bolts don't lose their jobs

How will Cripps award trophy look like when he retires.
How many premierhsips?
Brownlows?

Does he get any?
