Next year future picks?

With FS and NGA you can go into deficit .. I think we will get a real good idea on this year..there is so many NGA's. This kid has kicked 3 goals today one would think he would get a bid somewhere the draft...

Bailey Scott doing well again.. I wonder how long before he announces his preference.

I suggest the following:
Gaff is worth about pick 6-8( both st kilda and north would do that I feel.
Lycett about a late first, say 16.
Rich not much, say 35
Kelly- hard to say exactly how good he is unless he played a game without Selwood, danger getting the attention. Again, the most needy clubs like st Kilda, north , gold coast would pay about pick 10. If gaff went was traded to st Kilda for pick 4, then west coast could trade pick 4 for say 8 and 18, and use 8 on Kelly.

Haha

Lycett wouldn’t get pick 16 if west coast had incriminating photos of the other trading party.

They would rather be outed as a nazi with signed beiber posters cheating on their wife with a goat than be the guy who paid pick 16 for free agent lycett.

Suma Magic
How do the WA clubs treat each other with the NGA players... do you bid on each others players.. watching the champs there is a kid
Tom MEDHAT that is tied to Freo that one would think will get a bid at some stage.. and yet they do not really have many mid round picks..

Think it’s likely that we see less bidding than there would be in a rationale market.

Noone is paying pick 16 for Lycett lol...

I’d say he has slightly exceeded expectations. But he’s still so raw. Lost quick and exciting though. Really could go either way.

Only averaging 13 touches, 2 tackles and 2 scoring shots in the WAFL.

Maybe pick 30?

I think he will play on Sunday with Ryan and Lecras out.

Petrucelli? Worth maybe pick 30?

Hahahahaha.

Last time we did something like that we traded pick 11 for 24 & 25.

We got Josh Dunkley and Kieran Collins.

Pick 11 was Charlie Curnow.

Still stings

11 for 24 and 25 is a bit different to what I proposed. Still it depends on who you are looking at. The Crows would need to know they could get Ranking so you may finish too high

Drafted at 37 and has exceeded expectations IMO.

What would you rate his value as?

What were his expectations?

He’s played 2 games of AFL for 11 disposals total and looked completely lost in the derby, which is fine he’s a 1st year player.

But in the WAFL he’s not doing much.

Not having a dig. Just guys that get picked 30ish don’t go up in value for 2 AFL games and below average WAFL contributions.

Jarman Impey by comparison was traded for pick 33.

What’s he worth? In a wants to leave WCE type value he’d attract at best a 3rd rounder. Something around 50 at best.

In a ‘man we want Petrucelle’ type scenario (which let’s face it, who is demanding to want this kid) he’d still at best attract someone’s late 2nd early 3rd, so around 40.

No one is going near pick 30 for him.

Serious question. Would you use pick 30 on him again this year? Or would you spin the wheel and see if you could something better?

Josh Thomas.

Currently 26, turning 27 in October.

Josh is having his best season after a 2 year suspension for a positive illicit drug test.

Does anyone think he is just the type of player that GC should chase?

Not suggesting the Pies want to trade him, but he would be on minimum $’s at the Pies and GC have a truckload of cap space and they should be desperate for ready made senior players, especially if they have a local connection.
24 goals in 14 games this season.

Thoughts??

I’d trade him for 30. That’s why I initially valued him there.

But you’re probably right. Having another think I probably would trade him for 40.

He is definitely a low volume player so judging him on his stats he won’t look good.

Its hard to say.. player in system loose value thru doing nothing other than being in system and playing against a better class of players. He comes from a non football background and will take a bit to develop imo. In the draft this year ..probably a good chance he goes in the 40's..?

Wanted him but not as desperate as Weller , He look good playing alongside with Stephenson , Degoey , Hoskins in the forward line and service from Peddle , sidebottom and Grundy . I think he is those type that look good when their team are winning but disappeared when the battle are on ,maybe third round pick if Dew want him.

I would want to have a look at him, could be another Jarryd Lyons type to bring into the club.

QLD lad in form, we would benefit from having him in the team. Midfield goals are something we don't have a lot of.

Question would be whether he would want to come up and struggle for another year or 2 before we look like a finals outfit, and whether the Pies want to part with him? Could easily give him a pay rise, what is his contract situation like?

The problem is you’re still heavily speculating with pick 40 on him. Recruiters would back themselves to find something else with their pick 40 IMO.

Another comparison so I don’t seem biased. Brennan Cox was pick 41. He easily had a better first year than Petrucelle. Is having a good second season for a young tall.

If he were to leave? We’d be lucky to get a pick of similar value ~ 40.

First rounders go for stars or young potential guns. 2nd rounders go for best 22 players or still young potential guns. 3rd rounders go for ‘go home players’ or nobodies that other teams seek.

Petro isn’t 1st or 2nd round.

Wasn’t suggesting he was worth an early pick.
I think a third rounder is fair and would be a win/win/win.

The 3rd win is a possible 3 year deal for about $400K PA.
