Correct. The club states it will match without qctually haven't ng to formally match a fa bid.
Which is still matching!
not really ... threatening to do something is not the same as doing it

Weekend Wrap and "Liked, Learned, Hated" right here -- How did tipping go?

That's pretty much him - he's a momentum player. He might be having a terrible game but during the 3rd quarter, he might just bob up for a couple of goals and then kick an important third in the last quarter. I wouldn't say he's a front runner where he only plays well when we're up, he's actually often a big game breaker when we're struggling (big impact in Carlton (R3), Brisbane, Bulldogs, Melbourne and Gold Coast games) but he's certainly not a four-quarter player - that's his big weakness.Wanted him but not as desperate as Weller , He look good playing alongside with Stephenson , Degoey , Hoskins in the forward line and service from Peddle , sidebottom and Grundy . I think he is those type that look good when their team are winning but disappeared when the battle are on ,maybe third round pick if Dew want him.
Didn't you use the Dangerfield situation? sorry not you but the post ...
For what its worth ... the comp is not meant to be a full compensation for teams at the top of the ladder.. I have questions over whether league ladder leaders should get any comp.

I agree that Gaff would be a different scenario to Danger if that's what you're saying (not my post originally). Different in that we would actually match, rather than a deal being done prior to any offer/matching.
You're right that the compo isn't necessarily meant to be sufficient for top clubs for bands 1, 3 and 5. However it's designed so that teams of RFAs can match if they want to get full compo via trade, but this option isn't available to FAs.
Bands 2 and 4 - no difference in compo regardless of ladder position. So strange...

I accept. I've want to see one at CHB and the other at CHF. Good for both clubs.
Are you reneging ?? I wouldn't have thought that was much of a worry for the club trading him out ??Only concern is could Harry and Brown play in the same fwd line?

The cost of Jamie Elliot?
First rounder (late) or an early 2nd. 13-25 would be an absolute guess. It would depend on his injuries though. Probably rated higher by Collingwood
What would the Swans want for Hannebery? Looks like he needs a change.
Your guess is as good as mine. Depends whether he’ll ever be fit again. Has never been the same since that tackle in the 2016 GF (which apparently was “fine” by the umps). I’d personally be still wanting a 3rd rounder though.
This is a very good questionThe cost of Jamie Elliot?
That's not a funny situation. Clubs do that on purpose !!Personally i would rather wait another year to see how he goes with his injuries and if i really want him get him as a free agent ( i believe he should be a FA next year but its a funny situation as to him being OOC a year prior to becoming a free agent)
Usually the managers dont do these deals and have their clients out of contract the year they become free agents, This may suit the club but the player and managers dont do themThat's not a funny situation. Clubs do that on purpose !!
yes that was a Dogs umpire decision ... He is only 27.. a fresh environment ..who knows.. but you would know better than me if he is cooked.
They most certainly do. It's sound list management. Also, why do you think so many of the guns that are coming out of contract are Restricted Free Agents rather than Unrestricted Free Agents ?? Clubs aren't stupid and a lot of the time, players aren't concerned about free agency when it is several years down the track and they are signing multi-year deals.Usually the managers dont do these deals and have their clients out of contract the year they become free agents, This may suit the club but the player and managers dont do them
Thats exactly my point , They come out of contract when they become unrestricted so thats a compromise from both sidesThey most certainly do. It's sound list management. I wouldn't have Elliot in the gun category myself. I was talking the likes of Danger, Dusty, Sloane, McGovern etc. There's a number of reasons why, usually the main one being that the player was offered more money per year. Player then backs in his ability to earn another contract. If he was delisted one year before becoming a free agent, he then backs himself in to be picked up as a delisted free agent.Thats exactly my point , They come out of contract when they become unrestricted so thats a compromise from both sides
1 year prior is a club win - Why would the player agree
This is a very good question
Currently if i was trading for him with all his injuries and no guarantee's he is over them plus the salary he would be looking at a move ($400k - $500k)
I wouldnt give up any pick better than #30

Cant see the Pies giving him a long term contract with his history of injuries or on big money so he may just sign with pies on a 1 year deal to see how he goes.
