To be fair he probably wanted to give the club a second chance. But nothing changed so he wanted to pack his bags.
Fingers crossed we get that change this year.

3 crucial players next year

ROB replacing Sauce and aves 15 disposals, 4T and 4 clearances in 1st full season and finished 7th in ave hit outs.
Jones rank 3rd in rising star for avg centre clearances yet 58th for TOG of rising stars. Rank 8th on our list.
Fog avg's 2.2 goals a game including 5 against WCE and would rank 9th in league if he played 5 games.

That’s all good. I’m very bullish on the under 24s on our list. Happy to put my faith in their hands moving forward. But they have been underdeveloped under Pyke. Perhaps understandably so given he took us to a grand final 2 years ago. But for whatever reason we got ourselves into this situation (oldest list and inexperienced youngsters) it’s now time to pay the piper.

I can’t wait to see the youngsters play. All I am saying is that next year we will be bottom 2. Whether we play guys that are no longer effective (Tex, Lynch etc) or guys getting their first seasons under their belts (Ned, McAdam, Scholl). I can’t wait to see the latter. Don’t think I’ll bother to tune in if it’s another year of the remnants of 2017.

Naa. I was smoking some good stuff before though. Thought we might even give the flag a shake if we could “just sneak” into the 8 in 2018. And after the bye this year, even though we had played terrible football, we were sitting pretty enough on the ladder that we just might give it a shake this year too..... lol. Yeah I was on the good stuff.

Watching the second half of that last Port game sobered me up once and for all I think. I dare anyone to watch the 2nd half of that showdown again and find any possible excuses for this group of deplorables. That they are anything other than a bottom 4 rabble of s**t.

If he had to leave after what happened after the camp, why didn't he leave last year before we Rookie listed him.

It's almost like he was not wanted by anyone, then delisted with the promise of a rookie contract for one more season.

Even if you think the camp is shit, that's a lot of money to leave on the table (especially as it's a decision that's seen Cam most likely make another million on top of the rookie draft pick).

It's all good to say now "why didn't he leave", he couldn't leave if he wanted a career at this level.

The Saints have a couple of big ins, they won’t finish bottom 2.

I think we are a very strong chance for bottom 4. We’ve lost a number of players, we’ve got untried juniors and even more untried juniors as our depth and we aren’t bringing players in.

I'm similar. I don't think we're a chance for bottom 2, seeing even with losing a few players, there should be too much talent to drop that low with a competent coach, but we're a very good shot at ending 15-16th if kids take a bit longer to click.

Resigning Keath would be a massive **** up for a rebuilding side. After all, he's just an intercept defender which is just icing for a side. Doubled up with the fact it is a very easy position to replace, and letting him go is a good move.

I think we can all envision that story. Wants payrise/security, we've lowballed as we do not value intercept defenders anywhere near what other clubs do (which is quite easily the best line of thinking this club has had in a long time) and are rebuilding, another team swoops in, we probably collect a second rounder.
