I don't think a 6'1 Sholl is going to be competing with a fit Scharenberg for a spot necessarily, might be more that a fit Scharenberg will be battling Hartigan or Kelly - and I'm all for that.

He’s being given the opportunity to recruit his own crew. Clubs will let them go if they choose to leave, just as we did with Francou.

I don't often have information to share so this is probably the only one for a while.

Brett Burton did not see the end coming and as a result, did not take his sacking well. This is partly because his primary communication within the club was with the board, who up until the middle stages of the review, believed there were no major issues with Burton's performance

As much as this makes me smile, and I would have loved to have seen it, this just highlights what a joke our board is.

Being part of turning us around will be useful on a CV. Plus we’re prepared to blow the cap. There could also be some upward movements as well, we’ve got a senior assistant role available.

I think theres a massive disconnect between the board and what needs to be done to run a successful footy club.

Yep. It sounds to me like the main conduit between the board and players was Burton and to a lesser extent Pyke, facilitated by Roo who is the football expert on the board. And this all makes sense because that's how a hierarchy should normally work.

The issue being Burton wasn't interested in hearing issues from the players, and of course this feedback roadblock prevented info from reaching the board, who consequently thought Burton was doing a good job. And Roo backed him up because they're mates
