so just ruminating, Gubby knows players and club modus operandus well,so whats his strategy? Firstly has the club confirmed that they are chasing Coniglio?where did the 1.4 figure come from?
If Allen knows we are no hope( from private chats), do we make a massive offer to squeeze their cap, then trade for a Whitfield who has one year to go? Dunno, but i am hoping for something more strategic from him.

I'm sure his manager will push him to make a decision sooner rather than later and tell him to secure his future because as we know it can be cut short with injury.

Hey, I hope you’re correct, but pretty sure Fyfe, Kelly etc all caught up with team managements. Nothing eventuated. I’m just not investing a whole lot of emotion into it at this stage based on past history,

Plugger we will be playing finals next year , just getting players back from injury and improvement of our list I can't see we don't.
We may even play finals this year if everything lines up.

Marshall has gone from prospect to a sure thing.
Billings playing on a wing with 2 goals , 11 tackles and 33 touches has finally come of age.
Throw in Gresham , Battle , Wilkie , McKenzie , Steele , Paton with the talent of Ross , Hannebery , Carlisle , Steven , Webster , Membery.
This is a solid base to have a go at finals if we secure our Free agent Cogs and of course they will be going after another (Langdon, Bonar , Jones etc)
requiring us to fill our other spots in the 22 with a range of options Bruce , Kent , Newnes , Lonie , Sinclair , Acres , Savage , Parker , Austin , Marsh , Long , White
With the young talented kids with another preseason under there belt Max King , Bytel , Hunter Clark , Coffield , Clavarino.

However we are missing a back up ruck , so I expect they will pick up one from somewhere.

you can stick these guys where ever you want , but this will give any team a run for there money

having a midfield of Cogniglio , Steven , Hannebery , Ross , Steele , Gresham , Billings , Marshall is just as good as any.

Unfortunately cogs doesn’t speak to you and there are a lot of ifs and buts there. My guess is he thinks we won’t play finals text year and he would think gws certainly will. At the moment we have probably no a grade players. I think you are clearly overrating those who will be.

I’m glad you think we will get him but I’m sure we had this conversation last year about Shiel and how a grade players we have all will have. Still stuck on zero especially with jack missing. Gresh and billings getting closer then that’s it.

Maybe if we are fighting with north or wb we might be a chance in that department. We also have a difference in what is a grade.

Not being funny here, but genuinely interested to know why you think what you have written above. You seem to know a bit about his character that the average fan wouldn’t know. Do you know him? I can’t understand why a player like him wouldn’t want to go to a top club tbh.

Recruiting players the calibre of Coniglio isn’t realistic whilst we’re in the lower half of the ladder.

Players in our cross hairs will have played <50 games, possibly not able to squeeze into their AFL team or possibly wanting to “come home”.
