Word is that Paddy is unhappy playing forward, and prefers to be a ruck, one reason he might want to leave. So not sure if the 50:50 thing is suitable. It might be.

he like most players probably wants tenure. if he has a 2 year offer on the table. he'll take it over 1. if the moneys roughly the same or better.

He must be related to Jake , Jake had a sook when he was told to play forward at the Bombers so the story goes

ideally you bring him in on a shortish deal, say 2 years, which is one more than port are offering. then transition him into a role off-field, be it coaching or welfare.
I think you create a role for blokes like Roo ect , not for guy who is going to give you two years service in the back end of his career , we wouldn't even have a clue if he wants to coach, he is not that good we should bend over for him is he

Hmmm.... Well sounds like Gringo has a bit more support regarding Marshall. Dal Santo said he needs support and yesterday on SEN Whately asked N Reiwoldt if he agrees and Roo said Marshall should be a part time Ruck/Fwd (mostly fwd) and that we need another (good) ruckman.

Was an interesting discussion from someone expertly qualified. I'm sure the podcast would be on SEN app in case people can't believe what they are reading

I actually never called for it, rather I reported that Dal had said it on SEN and that Rooey also mentioned it so I feel with both being involved, that it's a plan.

Marshall has been excellent and more than we could hope for and potentially a gun ruck. I don't mind the fact that he's really like having 2 extra mids- he can play like one and having one ruck means we can load up with another runner.

Plugger does his nut every time it's mentioned so I like to remind him of it.

The race to sign off-contract GWS star Stephen Coniglio is down to four clubs, according to SEN’s Time On host Sam McClure.

Coniglio, 25, is yet to re-sign with the Giants and is attracting plenty of interest from Victorian and Western Australian clubs, who are closely monitoring his contract situation.

“It’s fair to say that the chase for Stephen Coniglio has well and truly begun,” McClure told The Match Committee.

“He’s flown down to Melbourne this week; he has caught up with his powerful player manager - Tom Petroro.

“My read on it is this … and I want to preface all this by

Saying I think he is staying (at GWS), but the clubs that are chasing him are clearly now: Carlton, Hawthorn, Geelong and West Coast.

Contrary to recent reports of a planned $1.4 million per season offer, McClure believes St Kilda are out of the running for the midfielder’s signature.

“I think St Kilda are out,” he added.

“St Kilda have made it known that they like him … I don’t think he will go to St Kilda.”

Going by this guy we don't have a chance , anyway If he doesn't sign before the finals there is a good he will move.
Would be a surprise if he goes to the Blues seems to be a GWS graveyard.

If he's rejected us I hope we target him for pain for the next 10 years. Crunch the campaigner for his disrespect.

Gringo as you know he would not let anyone know what club had a chance of getting him at this stage with GWS playing finals , we are in a good position , it will be interesting at the end of the season.

The only slight positive we have is money. Anything else and we arent in any position. Certainly not good unfortunately.

Surely if Purple rings him up , or even some random telemarketer he just rattles it off,
"Yeah Saints offered me 2 mill, but i'd never go there, Hawwwwwthoorn....oops i need to clean the phone. "

Ha ha yeah that's what I meant - that it seems to be getting mentioned by those actually ITK. Roo also mentioned that he still works with some of the forwards, so he would have a fair idea of the plans.

Where is all this info coming from Premo ?

May as well go for nic nat instead if we're going down that track

There is talk that Ryder is looking for a move.
There is not talk that nic nat is looking for a move.
So i say, that going for nic nat instead would be a waste of time.

If he was consistently wrong he wouldn’t have a job. I don’t think it’s right to suggest because he was wrong about Shiel he’ll be wrong about Coniglio. He’s only as good as the mail he gets and he has the ability to air his mail publicly with his name on it. I think he’s more likely to go with what he believes to be true than he is to try and influence outcomes.

Just posted what he said on Oct 2 last year, nothing else

There was no talk of hannebury going anywhere either.

And nicnat hasn't signed,
And they have 2 other senior ruckmen,
they have a tight salary cap,
he hasn't played for 2 years- there's probably currently (like with hanners) a big gap between what wc value him at in $ vs how nicnat values himself in $ terms.

He and west coast are actually in a VERY similar situation to hanners and swans last year.
Ripe for someone with money to get in his ear and swoop
