Better than hollands and mcdonald? Huge call.

Its so hard to call as we missed hollands key year.....thilthorpe had some groin issues...but his talent is definitely as good as mcdonalds.
Real line ball. Its really what your team prefers.
There's clearly no clear #1 choice as a week out no one can make up there mind.

Well JUH is probably the clear #1 so we're really all arguing about the #2

How many played seniors?
Just curious as Hogan only played colts

Hogan played WAFL colts as a 17 year old.

He then went in the mini draft and played VFL as an 18 year old in his top age year for Casey.

He kicked around 50 and finished like 4th in the Liston.

He kicks em on the left,
He kicks em on the right,
and when he joins the mighty roos,
we'll be sinking p1ss all night.

If we draft him, I’ll be singing that all day

You're not swaying me.

We need midfield superstars, we are on our way to having a couple in LDU and Simpkin, adding another in Hollands is too enticing.

Build the midfield first, then use $ and Picks to go after a FF when we need one... if and when Comben doesn't establish himself.

#1 prefence is to do 2>5,27,37,2021 R1 & still get Hollands @5 (imo, the absolute dream scenario)
#2 Hollands & Perkins
#3 Hollands & Cox

The Special needs brother, WA boy, diminishing value of Tall Forwards in the game.... how many red flags do you need for McDonald?

The special needs brother is Chapman, not McDonald.

If you watched Any sort of vision of him you’d realize he’s extremely mobile and gets up and back the ground. He gets the ball at ground level like a big mid. He’s not your typical tall forward.

Your #1 is gone. GC has swapped out 27.

And 5 on Narni in a pre-season match!

To be fair he has liked legitimately every comment on that post including ones linking him to Adelaide and Hawthorn, and one that says he will have the support of the gay community wherever he goes

As to picking the player for our draft, we can fit the most pressing role for us?

Is holland what we need? What role does he fit in our team? If holland comes in, never mind the injury, how does he compete with zurhaar and thomas? Remember, we still have ziebell and garner. Also stephenson will also be playing half forward at times even though he has been pencilled to become an inside midfielder with his dynamic abilities.

Phillips will add to our midfield rotation and can also be a small forward. At pick 11, now 15, we should be able to nab another decent midfielder. Our biggest dificiency is lack of pace in the middle as that could also sip into defense and attack.

He is just a ripper kid, watching him in person he is an extreme personality that is odds on to captain an AFL side in the future. Adored by teammates and recruiters it’s hard not to love him.

Philips looking like he might be our selection at pick 2 giantroo?
Agree. This could
Twomey just said that Phillips, Laurie and Cox were the most impressive at today's Vic training day.
Phillip's did another very impressive interview on SEN today. Seems to be very balanced kid as opposed to one other big target who appears to be just a tad too confident in his own abilities. I wont be surprised or disappointed if we take Phillip's

Cunners still a star, TT surely plays mid, showed plenty in debut season when moved up the ground. Good chance our second pick will be too. Logan Mac footage looks a good athlete that push's up the ground. I think thats key, Tall forwards have to be athletic and good at ground level as well as in the air. Hell the best team over the last few years won a premiership without any key forwards, but when Reiwoldt fit and firing, they go and pick up Lynch as well. Certainly not any worse for it. Key is having players that HAVE a weapon, and developing a game style that best utilises those weapons.

going by a lot of the draft experts mcdonald is a tier above thilthorpe. thats what I'm mainly going by. watching a few highlights wont tell you much.

Pretty sure Stevo and TT will be getting time in mid

I'm always a bridesmaid.

I back your judgement and appreciate your insight into these kids. And I know there is a glaring hole at FF, but the way the game seems to be going is the most dangerous forwards are the medium ones who manage to not only kick 40 goals a year but rack up 20-25 possessions and set a few goals up along the way.

And the thing is, didn't we take Comben with out first pick last year?! I can't see why 12 months later we'd be considering it a bust when he was taking screamers over Taz last preseason. Obviously I'd imagine we'll take McDonald if he's available, but if Comben shows anything like what he did this preseason, next year, where would McDonalds (by round 4 on this board in this scenario) even play? Seems overkill to me and an incredible gamble with our best draft equity in years in what is essentially a "midfielders" game.

So you are basing your opinion on another person's opinion?

Outside of one or two on BF that do the work, watching a few highlights is what the majority of "draft experts" have forged their opinion on.
